Dec 1978 American Rifleman

Picked up this American Rifleman magazine from December 1978 at a yard sale today for two bits. It has a real nice detailed article on the Interarms/Mauser Parabellums, including a real cool "centerfold" of all the variations. Check out those target models!
Anyway, if one of you guys that collects these models would like this, I would be more than happy to give it to you. Just let me know and I can drop it in the mail.

December 1979 NRA American Rifleman Luger Article

Working with Bluff Lake 36 who received the magazine from Marc, I've scanned a copy of the article for limited sharing with the Luger Forum community.

The article covers details of the last production by Mauser of the Parabellum in the early 1970s (through 1976) and the series of commemorative pistols that followed through 1979.

It's about 1.4mb in size.

Cheers!

Marc

Marc,

Thank you very much for making this information available to all the folks of this forum that have an interest. I definately do, and have printed out a copy for my files on my 06/73.

I also want to thank Bluff Lake 36 for allowing you to have the magazine so that you could work your magic. I didn't know this mag article even existed until the post was made here.

Again, thank you.

Marc, how did you attach the file to your post? I've not been able to attach anything more than about 200 KB before.

Marc, I just used the advanced editor, and uploaded it... it may be that my patron status gives me more file upload size...

I really can't believe that I am the only one to take advantage of Marc's generous work to this forum. Perhaps others have used the file and did not mention doing so.

Thanks for the article. I downloaded it and saved it.
Really interesting.

I admit that I am "nummah thun a pounded thum", but why do I get CANNOT RENDER when I try to open this file?

ithacaartist 08-07-2012 10:20 AM

The file is a .pdf, which is typically displayed by Adobe Acrobat Reader. It you do not have this free software, or its equivalent, installed, this would explain your problem.

mrerick 08-07-2012 11:41 AM

The Adobe Acrobat Reader is a free download from:

http://www.adobe.com/go/getreader/

I usually deselect the free stuff they bundle with it (like the security scanning software)...

Marc,

I downloaded the article, appreciate it.

I downloaded it and printed, but the print is too small and fuzzy to read.
thanks
Jack

mrerick 08-08-2012 06:11 PM

Jack, the text resolution is fairly high in the document (600dpi). You should be able to zoom into it and read it clearly with the Acrobat Reader. It scanned accurately enough for the character recognition feature to index it.

Marc

CAP Black 08-09-2012 10:03 PM

Yes, I got it. I got the Adobes and the Tekkie stuff put together and got it in a PDF file and now I'm cooking. I can read it and print it.

Thanks very much for the upload...can't believe I'm just now finding out about these Mausers, but you guys are keeping me well informed without a doubt!

Zorba 04-28-2013 03:01 AM

I'll add my thanx to the chorus - another bit in the fascinating history of this pistol!

Tango3 09-03-2016 12:07 AM

This newbie thanks you too.

Great article, thanks!

Thanks. Just downloaded it. I can't remember previously reading it, and considering the interesting cover that surprises me.

Late comer. But, I've downloaded it and I thank all those involved in making it available.

BobGee 01-28-2017 09:06 PM

I'd like to add my thanks to the chain of contributors who made this very interesting article available. My only regret is that Mauser is not still making them, especially the target models - so desirable.
Thanks again,
Bob
