Kahr Customer service sucks

I had the problem with a broken recoil spring on a CW9 that was 2 months old that Kahr would not take care of. I finally filed a complaint with the better business bureau a month ago. I just got an email from the BBB that Kahr refused to respond to their request. I highly recommend that Kahr is not a stand up company and for those who are looking to buy you may want to go with a different company that takes care of problems. For me if a company blows off the BBB they are not a good company.

padredan 06-15-2012 09:47 AM

well lets see, run by the rev sun young moon son and funded an owned by the moonies does that say enoughe

Curly1 06-15-2012 09:47 AM

They will just pay a fee to the BBB to remove any bad grades the BBB gives them.

policeluger 06-15-2012 09:49 AM

ditto, worst company to work with.......

I don't see how this relates to his customer service problem.
When I bought my PM9, I was told Kahr had a five year waranty. Are you the original purchaser? I haven't had any problems with mine, but if I do, I hope my experience is better than yours.

I think for some its a principal, you don't support cults no mater how good looking the sales man or woman is. I have heard many people who say they have not had any probelms with their Kahrs, but for those that have they are having a lot of blow back from Kahr. Yes I bought the gun new from Buds guns. It failed on two counts the mag release and spring with in the break in period. The spring may have been at around 400 rounds.

policeluger 06-15-2012 04:07 PM

My customers gun, the firing pin hole is drilled way off center....

I would have never thought in a million years that, that company was affiliated with the moonies.
If I remember correctly my Great Aunt was scammed by some followers of that organization in the 70's.

lugersrkewl 06-15-2012 06:31 PM

whats a kahr? I have never been remotely compelled to purchase one now I have a reason.
:).( looks like a s & w sigma / glock clone to me)

I'm having flashbacks of the TV series "Soap", where Billy is captured by the Sunnies [parody of Moonies], who are armed with Uzi's... :D

cdmech 06-15-2012 09:09 PM

Cautioning others about a poor customer service experience is one thing (and appreciated), but the rest of this thread just doen't sit well with me, and only makes me want to buy another Kahr.
Marc

policeluger 06-15-2012 09:49 PM

don't say you were not warned........

danzig 06-16-2012 07:46 AM

I have posted this on other threads, and some have given me the same response and one even banned me because the mod. was a Kahr dealer. People seem to self identify with a product, I am a Chevy man or Ford man or Kahr man. I have seen people who will cut a person down if they do not own a Glock because all others are junk. Personally I don't do this, if a product is good I say its good.

To be fair I did not run my Kahr past 400 rounds and was not going to waste any more ammo on it after finding out that Kahr is not going to stand behind their products. My problems were not catastrophic, and I have had problems with other guns, I had a Ruger SR9 I loved but the Cam block pin kept walking out like some ARs will do. I sent it back to Ruger[their dime] and they put in a new pin and it would walk about 3/4s out after about 50 rounds or so. I decided that even though I could keep sending it back and Ruger would eventually fix it at their cost that I would just try another gun. But Ruger stood up and did the right thing. And it may have been just a few guns as I have read some posts that others have had this problem. But even though my confidence in the SR was a bit shaken, my confidence in Ruger is not. Kahr on the other hand seems to be going down a bad road in that they try to remove warranty's and try to dodge their responsibility. So if you want to buy more into a company that does this knock yourself out. But don't identify your self image with a cult.

danzig 06-16-2012 06:37 PM

Love the FBDO ref. It was just a joke about a cult the owns a gun manufacturing company brain washing its owners. I guess the joke just ain't got wings. LOL

Tell you what, if you even think to yourself, hmmm, I may get banned for posting this.

DON"T post it :order:

I mean, what is the point in stirring the pot on something as asinine as proving a point that got you in trouble somewhere else?

Funny I always though it was douchey useing the term asinine.

Over reaction Ed.

Edward Tinker 06-16-2012 09:34 PM

Perhaps Ron, but I thought him bragging about telling this same story on numerous forums and being banned was a bit over the top.

Ron Wood 06-16-2012 10:00 PM

Your call. As I read it, he was banned on one other forum, not numerous forums, and it was because of their affilation with Kahr (which may or may not be the case). Although others may have had good relations with Kahr, it seems like Danzig has a legitimate beef with that firm and he is expressing his frustration.

You're right Jerry, douchy is misspelled. I googled it and came across this fascinating term, "douchus fagus" which may well describe our late friend. You learn something new every day! Best regards, Norm

lugerholsterrepair 06-16-2012 10:41 PM

Norm, Not only that but he mispelled thought! Two words in the same sentence! If you're going to lay into an Admin Supermoderator.. at least spell your insults correctly.

Ron Wood 06-16-2012 11:04 PM

I'm out of this discussion. I am obviously out of touch with what is going on and asenine. You guys carry on.

lugerholsterrepair 06-16-2012 11:12 PM

OH Ron! just having a little fun ...You have to admit the guy threw himself on the grenade when he was the only one in the foxhole.

I don't know this un-member, but if you're banned, how can you contact the site owner (or the administrator)???

Don't you have to be a member to access the contact links???

I tried to contact Albert after he was banned, and the contact links were absent... :(

Edit: I just logged out to see if I could contact anyone, and *all* forums were marked "Private" and I could not access them... :(

I do have a couple admin email addresses (possibly not current) but how would you contact any mod if you were banned??? Or any member that had not given you their email address???

I can envision a banned member wanting to contact GT/Hugh/LugerDoc/Jerry Burney etc to have work done but unable to...

That would be sad... :(

Edward Tinker 06-17-2012 09:21 AM

oh come on, it wasn't me that silenced him.

I felt he made a complete fool of himself....

John D. 06-17-2012 10:29 AM

I had no idea who danzig was/is - nor this person... In fact - didn't even read this thread since it was posted a couple of days ago...

But, I get on-line early morning father's day - and read this:

John, I could have deleted it, but I just thought, boy, you have to read this rant :)
