May I ask why my post was deleted, I'm getting a little tired of all this political correctness without an explanation so I don't make the same mistake twice.

Its like haveing a seperate but worse. Instead of cloths You need to purchase accessories, A duel mark leather artillery mduel mag holder will run you over $400, Then the leather work another $2000 if you can find it. A real drum another $2k Don't forget the loader, Super rare the loader of which is next to impossible to find. For every 5 drums th ere was one loader.I myself was ready to buy a loader from a reputable dealer who had no idea it was fake. Hook up with the experts. Pose your question or send a message to who is giving advice under a particular topic. It took 8 luger and ten years till I deserved this treat. Respectally Submitted!

Edward Tinker 11-09-2011 08:36 PM

sure, you were trying to sell something, and wasn't that a bit rude to say 'probably cheaper than Eric got it for'

I came through it all with this! Thank You, I don't wish to be thought of a poster child as this is my current poster. Tks and God bless! 'For the meek shalll inherit the earth'

cirelaw 11-09-2011 09:10 PM

One last comment, every luger you see except for the artillery was purchased from Ralph. Why can't leave him alone. Every one has an opinion and this isn't the place. R.I.P.

hgreer2 11-09-2011 09:16 PM

Eric, you're a nice guy, but I see what you don't. I think you have had some unscrupulous individuals that have taken advantage of you. I don't necessarily mean your artillery, but the integrity of certain individuals is questionable and it just pisses me off.

Harry

hgreer2 11-09-2011 09:24 PM

As you requested, take care and enjoy you new toy.
Harry

cirelaw 11-09-2011 09:24 PM

Harry I thank you for your concern! Send me a message with your e address. We can then exchange niceties free from onlookers. Thank You Sir!

George Anderson 11-10-2011 09:11 AM

Harry, as the member who sold the artillery rig to Eric, I am very interested in reading your expert critique of the set.

No expert here George, looks good to me. I never said the rig was not the real deal. My only concern is he probably paid to much for it. The word unscrupulous has several meanings.

Harry

alanint 11-10-2011 11:01 AM

I have no dog in this fight, but why is it your concern?

Eric had and has all the resources in the world to determine the market value of anything he is interested in buying. He is, to the best of my knowledge, a grown man who can make his own informed decisions. Eric went to one of the most trusted collector-dealers out there to make his purchase and you are second guessing the process and the fairness of the deal based on what?
The only valid reason I can see for anybody to jump in here was if Eric had voiced concerns over his purchase. He has not. To the contrary, he was elated with his purchase. So why rain on his parade?

I only see "unscrupulous" defined one way;

Norme 11-10-2011 11:49 AM

I'd like to return, if I may, to the original topic of this thread. Eric, the more I look at your photos, the more envious I get. It's a truly wonderful rig. Unit marked Artilleries are hard to find and unit marked stocks are rarer still. To get a gun and stock marked to the same Regiment is something most collectors just dream about. Is the holster marked in any way? Perhaps you can post photos of the inside of the lid. All the best, Norm

Neil Young 11-10-2011 01:07 PM

I second what Norm just said. You have a very nice artillery rig there, and I wager that you got a fair deal.

Take care.

Neil

Eric, You have a really nice Rig there, one to be very proud of, and I am sure you did well on it. John

cirelaw 11-10-2011 02:37 PM

KIT GLOVES,There is a sie online for free that contained the full history of each German unit.' The 52d Division was formed in March 1915by taking the 168 and 170th regiments from the famed 29th Division. There are only a few with regimental markings. On Page Jan Still listed the few known 1917 DWM Long P08 His is (169.R.8.K.5) AND (169.R.9.K.8) ours is The gun is (169.r.1.k.6) and the stock (169.R.5.K.4). It is beleived that this and the other arms were surrended to General Perchings' troops

Douglas Jr. 11-10-2011 02:44 PM

Eric,

Congratulations for your new aquisition!
It's always a thrilling feeling when something like this happens.
You surely deserve it as a kind of "compensation" for all the time spent in the hospital this year, away from your collection.
Nice way to cure the homesick!:D

Now it's time to research the units - it always add a lot to the gun story.

All the best,

Douglas.

According Jan Still, page 122, Imperial Lugers, there were 11 known1917 DWM and only 2 with the same regiment,(169.R.8.K.6) and (169.R.K.8)Our gun is (169.R.1.K.6) and the ultra rare stock (169.1.R.5 K.4) the leather is all the but fragile. I just commited myself to a legit loader. They are like a women with all the accessories!

John Sabato 11-10-2011 03:01 PM

I majored in History before law. Its been so great to trace hisoriies. I can actually name the battles that this gun was in. I remember 'All Quiet On The Western Front, between the rats and mud its amasing any one or luger from their surrender survived. Gods Been Good To Me!

cirelaw 11-10-2011 03:49 PM

Douglas its great support from the Mavans of Lugerdom. It feels Good! I had ask a noted collector how we you able to collect so mant lugers? He thought awhile and answered simple "One At Time"!!! Hmmmmm IMAGINE THAT! Please share your knowlege. The worst answer is 'we already answered that question"! These yougins will be tomorows market! We are but Lugerlugersitters. Year ago there were 2 sister both twins their mother died and there was one prized hummel. cLegal fees, court timeThe judge puled a king solomen and made us split the cost of an identical hummel. To much time is wasted. M point you elder (state of mind) have a chance to spread 'Lugerdom' Have patience, lightenup, Make it fun! Due to by boom booms I have been aunable to join my brother at a show like Louisvillle although I might get Debbie to play Caribbean Stud in Vegas!

Vlim 11-10-2011 05:38 PM

Eric, congratulations on a fantastic 1917 Arty. I have one with some minor issues, matching stock and most of the original leather. But the full leather kit and the unit marking on yours are the icing on the cake.

cirelaw 11-10-2011 05:53 PM

Found a dated 1917 'germany'

Well, I usually try to get along with everybody, and enjoy the history and technical aspects of the P08.....but I've had enough of this Harry, Greer, whatever...NO NAME CALLING PLEASE {ADMIN}, and I cringe when I see he's submitted a post. He contributes nothing but pictures of the expensive stuff he's bought, and demands approbation from those who view it.....classic case of having more money than sense. He should have his own reality show, as he is, in the truest sense of the term,.......an........:atwhore:

cirelaw 12-11-2011 07:43 PM

Please put it behind you! I know how you feel and I would for me a friend to a friend to remove your comment as it is distracting my joyous happiness by showing what took years and tears to achieve Friend For A Friend, Thank You!!
