Tulsa

Any plans for a gathering or fellowship meeting during the Tulsa weekend?

Incredibly bad planning to have the Reno show the same weekend as the Tulsa show. Purely a coincidence, or??

Ron Wood 11-07-2011 01:16 AM

I'll be there. Bet we will have a gathering of one sort or another!:)

Are you sending out plane tickets??? :p

I would love the opportunity to meet Ron Wood in person...Oh, and you too, Mike, of course... :D

I'll be wearing a disguise, I'm going to dress up as a redneck from Oklahoma. I will be with a couple of guys that look like Geroge Fortier and Hugh Clark.

How about a poll asking the members who are driving to give the distance they will have to drive. I am in south Louisiana; I will be driving about 700 miles.

Mike

Ron Wood 11-07-2011 12:28 PM

I will be driving about 920 miles.

lew1 11-07-2011 12:43 PM

If I drive, it is around 800 miles. But this time I have enough FFM so I am coming by plane.

hgreer2 11-07-2011 12:57 PM

I'm in OKC, about 90 miles. I can make it without having to stop and pee.

True story; I friend was parked in a shopping center parking lot waiting for his wife to finish shopping. The urge to pee was so great he picked up an empty water bottle and used it. BAD LUCK: a police officer happened to walk by and looked in the car. He ended up in jail.

I carry a pee bottle in my car. And have used it a couple of times.

No cops (or other people) have walked by though.

I tried that once with an empty 12oz beer bottle left in my car...Did you know that your body outputs more than a beer bottle can hold??? :grr:

True story;
I was in my deer stand and hadn't seen anything all morning, about 9 am I HAD to pee, so stood up and opened the door and started peeing. While in the process an 8 pt walked up within 50 yds. I grabbed my rifle and shot him with it still hanging out my pants!

Hugh,
Are you sure that deer didn't just die laughing?

Speaking of driving; I didn't want to use my wife's Grand Marquis and my compact truck is a bit to rough for a 700 mile trip. Plus it is manual transmission and not a favorite of my wife if I used her car.
I logged onto priceline and then "name your own price". I bid $18.00 a day for a full size car. To my surprise my bid was accepted. My rental bill for a four day rental for an Impala; $98.86 including all taxes and fees. Mike C (MFC) and I are driving together, so each less than 50 bucks to use an almost new Impala with unlimited milage. Sounds like a deal to me.

To pee or not to pee, that is the question. Whether it is nobler to bear the pains of an outrageous bladder or by elimination, end them. Aye, there is the rub, for in that urgency of travel what trials must come that cause a pause for pee?

Edward Tinker 11-07-2011 10:05 PM

I need to stop more often than the wife (no medical condition :D) just always have had a smaller bladder.

Admit it freely, I drink a 32 oz dr pepper and I'll be stopping an hr and a half later :)

I wonder how far Shakespear would drive his chariot before looking for a pee stop.

hgreer2 11-07-2011 10:53 PM

When my wife was 8 months pregnant, we would have to stop every 30 miles. The bad part, two or three stops to find a restroom clean enough. I don't miss those days.

You can never own coffee or beer.

You must only rent it...

Enjoy the trip!!!!

At times, you are correct. That is why I have a big bottle.

Here was my reasoning; I'd gone before I left home; had a beer at the shop while my car was being worked on; chatted awhile, then left for the air base. On the way, I had to go, and I figured it was *just* the rented beer flowing on its way to the sea...So I grabbed the bottle (5 cent deposit) and...overfilled it... :o

It was a 1975 Trans Am, with really tough glass windows...I actually tried throwing a beer bottle out of the open window one night...The window wasn't open...The bottle bounced off the window glass and back into my lap...(It was empty...no fluid therein)... :grr:

On the other hand, while disassembling a 1974 Datsun 260Z of my wifes for painting, I accidentally just tapped the door glass with a screwdriver and it went to pieces...just disintegrated into little 1/4 inch fragments...

...Go figure...

Ah...The joys of youth... :D

lew1 11-08-2011 12:28 PM

We are lucky. About 3 years ago I was on I-70 (east of Coumbus) coming from New Stanton. Big accident. All traffic stopped for a bit and I had to use the bottle. Then traffic started moving slowly. But a car in the right hand lane (in front of about three trucks) was stopped -- with no one in the car. And they were no blowing ther horn, etc. All of a sudden I saw two girls coming over a hill heading towards the car.

I had wondered why the truck drivers had a smile on their face.

:biggulp:Amusing how a thread on driving to Tulsa has morphed into a thread on peeing!!!!
