Sorry to hear of your loss, our veterans should be mourned by everyone. God bless you and your family in this tragic time. If it were not for brave men and women like your father, we would not be enjoying the freedom we enjoy today.

As the son of a B-24 Radio Gunner in the 445th, who lost his Dad two years ago, I understand what you are going through.
God Bless!

Dwight,

Dwight my friend, may God bless and comfort you and your family in this loss... I don't even think the "Greatest Generation" is an adequate description for your Dad, and the heroes that fought with him to preserve our freedom.

Very sorry for your loss.

My father-in-law was a B-17 (White Horse; Mr Tacoma) ball turret gunner. He was a POW in Stalag Luft I. You've probably seen this site for Stalag Luft I.

Dwight..I recieved your packet ...the story your Father wrote about his experiences..joining the Army Air Corps, being shot down and his plane being found. I have spent the last 3 nights reading it all..really fascinating, very well done. Good photo's too.
My Father wrote one just like it a couple of years before he died 10 years ago. I am glad he did. It would have been forever lost.
