Okay, so it caught my attention, even though i am not remotely interested.

2nd or 3rd picture down, didn't they start with a WW1 luger? jeez...

But then I am sure the "1 of 100" was all made from shooters; at least I hope so...

Probably a Franklin Mint, Etc. Butchered POS...

policeluger 07-03-2010 02:38 PM

OK Ed and Ron, I let it sit there giving you first shot......now no more mister nice guy

Edward Tinker 07-03-2010 02:50 PM

Ranks right up there with Beanie Babies.

Who would pay $4K for this even in an "up" economy? At best it is a shooter with $100-200 worth of questionable embellishments.

newluger 07-03-2010 04:03 PM

Looks like a Tiajuanna Special,

"Questionable embellishments" Doc? What do you consider questionable? The whole damn thing is a horrible glorification of nazism designed to lure people with a twisted understanding of history.

Ya' but what Neo-Nazi's uniform would be complete without one?

Ed, Gawd..ya made me look! Some things you just can't unsee! I have seen Mattell toys with a better grip fit. I see they were too cheap to have them checkered.

The whole damn thing is a horrible glorification of nazism designed to lure people with a twisted understanding of history. Couldn't be said better...Thanks George.

Notice the repeated insistence that an FFL needs to be involved for the sale.

He must get pestered by a lot of 14 year olds with raging hormones.....

FNorm 07-03-2010 07:38 PM

Who ya gonna present it to? Like Jerry says, I wish I could unsee it.

I'm saving up for one of the 'Brown Shirt Lugers'. You know the ones with the SA stamp....

Nice pimp gun Luger actually I saw something like this at a gun show. And told the seller he had a nice pimp gun Luger. He didn't take kindly to my remarks. And I told him I was only kidding and he said no you were not and we both had a good laugh.

It looks to have been a police gun at one time. In the first pic it has a hole for the sear safety rivet above the safety bar

newluger 07-12-2010 10:42 AM

What's sad about this, is that some sellers/dealers/or whom ever, believe that people in general are dumb enough to put out a lot of money for a piece of junk like that.

Before I went to work for the government in 1960, I worked in a pawn shop in Oakland California. Prior to my time, someone brought in a very nice Remington hunting rifle with scope and a quality stock. The owner thought it was cool to glue on those little doo-dads that you use to get out of gum ball machines. The entire stock was covered with them. Whenever we needed a good laugh, we would look at that rifle.

It seems to be mostly decorated on the left side as if meant to remain in the case all the time. I think I go with the golden one owned by Dorian Gray in the League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen :)

Hi:

No, this just looks like a careless attempt to doll-up a set.

Could this have been a "Mitchell's Mauser" produced "trophy"? Ugh! What a waste of a good shooter Luger. I notice it didn't sell... maybe the Lugerforum has educated enough people to prevent frauds like this.
