1938 S/42 Complete All Matching Rig
 

Once again this rig came out of the wood work from a local family. I have never seen a Luger in such pristine condition like this one. My primary collection interest is Imperial Lugers. This rig will probadly be for sale in the future. At the moment I'm trying to figure out what it truly is worth. I'm not sure why their is a halo effect around the S/42. Bore is mint.

wow, that is pretty much my "dream" Luger.. 2 matching mags! That is really something. I am not good with pricing Lugers... but this is over $2500+++ probably soo much more. Maybe even $3000+??

And if your really smart, sell the whole set except for 1 mag. Then you can really name your price :D

Halo looks good to me. Sometimes occurs from pressure of stamping tool on the surounding metal.

$200 perhaps $300 at the most.

Thanks for the replies. I think the factory like new PO8 is worth at least 2k. The blue book says add 100% if both mag are matching. Than you have the correct matching holster and tool. This rig is unbelievable. I have never seen one in such pristine condition.

Sorry, guys. You are all underestimating the going price. Up-to-the-minute value would be an asking price of $6,000 with a selling price of at least $5,000. Dealers have standing orders for Luger rigs with two matching mags, and they hardly ever turn up for sale.

I just can't wait until you DO sell it, so you can admit to us all what you actually paid for it, and the whole story of how it came to be in your possession. Truley the stuff dreams are made out of...I can't wait until I meet that old widow with a similar one who is eager to be rid of it for $500!
