Those of you who ordered books should start receiving them this week. I'm anxious to hear what you think.

Simson Luger book
I just got my copy of Simson Lugers! I wish to thank and commend Ed and Graham on a well done work. Its not often one gets to obtain a " first edition " , especially signed by the authors! Many kuddos also to Brad Simpson, for publishing this book. It will make fine reading in the weeks ahead.
Mike:cheers: |
thank you Mike, Graham and I were hoping that it'd turn out nice.

I got my book today and I'm very impressed! I don't know who these "Ed & Graham" fellows are but they've made a mighty fine birdcage liner!! :D
Congrats on the excellent job guys. Seriously nice book, both in what I've read so far, the excellent pictures and a super fine job of printing. I got the Deluxe Edition and I'm not a bit disappointed. I'm sure you'll sell them all out very soon... Also, I like the way you guys gave credit to the many people listed in the acknowledgments. A lot of familar names there. It makes me want to buy a Simson of my own... :) |
Nice Book!
Great job guys! I like it all the way thru... and a very nice touch, and nice way of recognizing the people that gave you some input... I hope, and wish, the very best of success for the authors and publisher... Best to all, til...lat'r...GT BTW, I want a Simson now also!!!!

Received my delux edition today. A great addition to the Luger library and a fantastic job Ed and Graham! I especially enjoyed pages 171-172!.
|
Excellent book by Ed and Graham
I am partial to pages 41, 106, and 154-155. Jan |
Envious of those who have received their deluxe copies, as mine hasn't arrived yet. Now I'm getting nervous, and soon I'll be taking sedatives. Wouldn't "Aaron"come first on the mailing list?
|
I got mine while I was on vacation,
Great looking booking with very good information Thank you ED and Graham My only guestion is that the best photo of ED you could find ???? you should have had someone touch it up a bit......:D Ed when I get the opt to meet you in person, I would like a personel mgs added in the front page. Jim |
Thanks all, apprecaite the comments.
Jim, story on that picture. Taken, by myself, in the temp PA apartment, by myself, with a self timer. Did I mention that I had just gotten to my new job and Brad needed pictures within the next couple of days and I had to take the pictures by myself? Aaron, hopefully it will arrive soon... Brad has lots of standard editions left, but less than 15 of the deluxe editions left... (I will have standard editions, and maybe 2 or 3 deluxe at the NAPCA convention...) Ed PS: I have observed I forgot several names in the achknowledgements area, Roadkill for one, for an initial translation that he did for us. :( RK, I apoligize, I had 2 translations and used Flecks (no it wasn't because he is my brother in law and a lawyer, I simply screwed up and left your name out) :o |
Writing a book of this nature is a much, much more involved and difficult thing than most people realize. Anyone worth a hoot will already know that, Ed... ;)
That picture doesn't look like you took it yourself. It looks more like it was taken by a sniper at about 1,000 yards... :D (It's not that bad) |
Ed,
I received my copy yesterday. Very well done Ed and Graham. A great reference for those of us still looking for their first Simson Luger. Ron |
Aaron,
Assuming your last name starts with an "S", we shipped your book on the 15th. Ed, As of right now, we actually have 19 Deluxe Editions left. |
ED got mine 2 days ago read cover to cover great addition to my library
thanks goodnight |
thanks Don, I am glad, and appreciate the help and pictures for the book :)

I just finished my first read through; there is a great deal of information here for the collector and the researcher. What I like most is the structure of how the information is presented, clean and to the point but presented in such a way that should new information ever become available the original contents purity should remain intact making this a valuable reference for our generations and for those to come.

Great book guys!! Thanks for the terrific effort. :D :D
|
Book received, very beautiful' especially the gold edging. Now if only I can find some shelf space for it in my crowded library.
|
Got my copy last wednesday.
I'm impressed, the book is a very interesting read and it has the right balance between history and catalogue/identification information. Ed & Graham: Well done! Brad: You provided a great service! |
We got hit by a nasty storm while I was working on the computer. My computer went down, our roof ended up across the street on top of cars. Bricks from our store front destroyed a car parked in front, etc. It was literally raining inside parts of our 3 floor building all the way to the basement. Good that the books had plastic over them. All the books & guns are OK. I just got done getting interviewed by FOX News, etc.
Everyone is safe but we have a lot of damage that will take a long time to clean up. PS: We have about 8 Deluxe Editions left. (Closed for today due to storm.) |
Storm!
Brad,
I'm sorry to hear about your misfortune. We in the Deep South have to deal with storms like that frequently. Hope the repairs go quickly! Best regards to you and your staff, Mike:eek: |
Brad
Everyone safe is the good news. Sorry for your problems, hope all ends well. Bill |
Thank you. We may be closed for a while. There are still loose bricks on the front of the building. It is not safe to use our front doors.
|
Brad, I am very sorry for your losses but thankful no one was hurt.
Getting back on topic, I received my copy of the book this week and have completed a once-through. Ed and Graham, you have done the collecting community a real service in collecting, organizing and presenting this information. Brad, you have done yourself proud in the quality of the product you have produced. |
Received my copys. All I can say is WELL DONE. Beautful job can't begin to think of the amount of work that has gone into it. Ron Im with you still waiting for my first simpson to fall from the sky.
|
Glad the store is 'getting better", its life, but irritating when things go blewy.
Thanks guys for the comments, apprecaite it. I literally just got back from Chattanooga, flew out to TN for the Napca convention. Met a lot of friends from the forums there and friends I knew only from the net and forums. Bought some small items, sold 22 books (Brad shipped them there for me :)) and just had a nice time. Ed |
Lugervern said it best...I just finished my first read through; there is a great deal of information here for the collector and the researcher. What I like most is the structure of how the information is presented, clean and to the point but presented in such a way that should new information ever become available the original contents purity should remain intact making this a valuable reference for our generations and for those to come.
I agree wholheartedly. I am most happy to have two copies, a deluxe..nicely done and a regular for both of my reference libraries. Truly a valuble addition to the Luger collecting field. Jerry Burney |
Ed,
22 books. Thats great. The book really does sell itself. Those of you who haven't seen this video should check it out: http://centralillinoisproud.com/cont...4bb28&cid=3715 |
Just finished reading the book for the first of many times. Great job Ed and Graham. Also Brad nice job on printing and distribution. It's hard to believe the knowledge and information from when I started collecting lugers 40 years ago and now. It's all thanks to efforts such as this one. The collecting community owes you. Bill
