He'll xray it for that price, won't he? :D

davidkachel 12-12-2006 11:32 AM

No doubt he has a "once you've opened the box, no returns" policy.

c3006 12-12-2006 11:33 AM

Wonder why it came from winchester?? ;)

davidkachel 12-12-2006 11:42 AM

BTW, I am selling Hermann Goering's corpse in a taffeta party dress for $10,000.
No pics though... he doesn't want to come out of the closet.

Jack Lawman 12-12-2006 12:33 PM

Good one!

I'm thinking two possibilities....

He got ripped off himself and is trying to recover
He is an out and out crook
I'm going with number one. The fact that he'd even make a listing like that makes it entirely believable  .

P.S. I got him down to $2500... I'll let you all know what it looks like :roflmao: .

Jack

davidkachel 12-12-2006 12:42 PM

If he got ripped off and is trying to recover, then he is also an out and out crook.

Only other possibility: there really is a John Wayne commemorative in the box and the guy is just a complete moron!

(only to inspect condition which is MINT!!!). No pictures because I will not remove it from original shipping carton. I guess he had it out once but forgot to take pictures? What a kook. Jerry Burney

davidkachel 12-12-2006 02:38 PM

Hey Jerry,

Are the Yuma gun shows as great as they used to be? (I'm talkin' way back to the 60's)
Man I miss those!

Hugh 12-12-2006 03:24 PM

When did Winchester make Colts:confused:

I'll bet it's one of those Nat'l Historical Society monstrosities!:grr:

davidkachel 12-12-2006 03:38 PM

Maybe the guy is trying to start a whole new level of collecting:

New, in the box, in a box!

"Here's my collection of NIB firearms, in boxes.
Don't open the box! You'll reduce the value. Just use your imagination to see what's inside!"

Hey, people went for Beanie Babies, didn't they!

lugerholsterrepair 12-12-2006 03:38 PM

David, I got two of my best Lugers at the Yuma show..a 1916 Artillery and a 1917 Navy. Sometimes they can be great as Calif. dealers come over here since California is so restricted. No matter what they are close and always interesting!
Hugh..Good eye! I missed that! I have some old cardboard boxes in the shed I might sell....Jerry Burney

davidkachel 12-12-2006 03:42 PM

And to think I could have saved all the money I have invested in firearms and just bought some boxes and masking tape instead.

Hugh 12-12-2006 03:57 PM

I remember those Yuma gunshows in the '60's, used to drive all the way from California to them. I was collecting Colt SAA's instead of Lugers back then. Sold most of them when I went thru my divorce in '84. Started buying Lugers about 12 yrs ago, and now I'm selling some of them to buy Colt SAA's. go figure:confused:

davidkachel 12-12-2006 04:09 PM

Hugh,
Do you remember two slightly obnoxious teenagers at the Yuma shows who thought they new it all?
One fat, one skinny.
That was me and my friend Ralph (dead now, hounded to death by the FBI, but that's another story).

(I was the skinny one... but no more!)

Curly1 12-12-2006 08:04 PM

WoW just when you thought you seen everything another knucklehead raises the bar.

Jack Lawman 12-13-2006 07:38 AM

Curly,
Your trooper is all heffed up on goofballs!

What's up with that?

Jack

Parabellus 12-13-2006 08:12 PM

I had almost convinced myself this guy is joking. Then I remembered this one.

I love the spastic trooper. He's disturbing and irresistable all at the same time.

Jack Lawman 12-13-2006 10:20 PM

Double time

He just slowed down....

I've seen him shuffling before, but when I made that post (heffed up on goofballs), he was double timing it!

Only in the great state of Florida could someone come up with such a good scam.

Wonder how many will fall victim to this one!

Jim

lugerluser 12-14-2006 08:38 AM
