I would be interested in one set, how much do we need to buy to get the discount?....thanks

Doug G. 12-08-2005 10:35 AM

Well, here is their discount structure:
Primary dealer -$5000
Master dealer -$2500
Stocking dealer- $1000
non-stocking dealer -$500

Discounts range from 5-20% off retail. Obviously the more we order the better the deal. Also keep in mind that they make a wide range of grips including target grips.

Freischütz 12-08-2005 11:16 PM

I too would be interested.

However I suggest you go to Park Cities Tactical, and check the group buy experience with Mactech.

I believe this will take you to the saga:

Nil Grips

Hi:

I'm in for 2 sets.

The grips fit properly, but the checkering is too course. These are the best replacement grips I've seen to date.

Doug G. 12-14-2005 10:12 PM

Ok, I was called again today by Nill. They offered me a first time order discount of 15%. The checkered P08 grips will be $90 -15%=$76.50. Smooth un checkered grips are $76 -15%=$64.6 per pair. They did not mention what the shipping cost will be, but I will divide it up by the number of grips you order. Of course there will be the postage to you, which should not be much. Here is what I have so far:

Hugh Clark-- 20 pair smooth
Sieger-- 2 pair checkered
Freisch¼tz--1 smooth, 1 pair HK PSP grips.
Chuckc--2 pair checkered

sambuscemi 12-14-2005 10:20 PM

Doug: What is your selling price per pair of checkered and smooth you are selling. I am a bit confused. You state the retail price is $75 and then you say the discounted price is $76.50????? Not sure what you mean. Can you tell me again ('cause I ain't too bright) what your selling price to me would be for two pairs of checkered and one pair of smooth. Thank you.

Doug G. 12-14-2005 10:27 PM

Sam, the price for one pair of checkered grips is $76.5 plus shipping. The cost for one pair of smooth grips is $64.60. So $217.60 plus shipping for 2 checkered and 1 smooth.

NOTE: You can order ANY Nill grips and still receive 15% off. I bought a set for my Benelli M90 target pistol a few years back. Made a huge difference in the feel of the gun.

Freischütz 12-19-2005 12:42 AM

Hello -

I'll take 1 set of uncheckered P.08 grips and one set of HK0258.

Tim 12-19-2005 04:49 PM

Doug,
I'll take 2 sets of the checkered grips. Let me know when/where to send a check.
Tim

Ponyman 12-23-2005 05:26 PM

Put me in for one pair of P08 checkered. Is there a finished/unfinished option?

Is there an on-line catalog of other available grips? If he has a grip and forearm for my
1867 .50 cal Remington "Navy" (anchor-proofed) Rolling Block, I'll kiss his feet.

Will you post a closing date for placing orders?

Doug G. 12-28-2005 03:34 PM

I am going to have a cut off date to order the grips. It will be January 31st. I already have enough to make a good order. Please email or send me a PM with what you want.

PS Mods, could you pin this until the 31st?

Edward Tinker 12-28-2005 06:11 PM

Doug, you are right, should have stuck it at the beginning, my apoligies. It is now stuck at the top.

Put me down for one checkered and one smooth set.
Address to send money?

I suggest you take money in advance prior to final order, it is easy for folks to not come up with the $150 + - when asked

:)

Ed

Ponyman 12-28-2005 10:06 PM

I hate to sound like an idiot by repeating myself (:-) but...
Is there an on-line catalog of other available (Nill) grips?

Snakeman 12-28-2005 10:28 PM

Yes there is: http://www.nill-griffe.de . This the home site for Nill grips.

Ponyman 12-29-2005 09:55 AM

Pete, Thanks!

Doug, I didn't find ANY info at Nill's site regarding P08 grips. My Deutch is quite rusty, but I think the product finder said there was an SQL error - perhaps meaning "I couldn't find that."

Can you give us a bit more info about what is being offered - material, any surface options other than smooth/checkered, etc?

~Dave

Snakeman 12-29-2005 11:12 AM

Hi Dave,
When you enter the nill-griffe site, click on "international", then on "products" on the left hand side of the page, then on "price list" (if you try using the "product finder", you will get zilch), scroll down about a third of the way down and you will find two different models listed under "no finger grooves, no thumb rest" as "Mauser Luger 08 (until year´45). the two models are: MA051 in nussbaum, std geoelt at 58 euros and MA057 in walnut, hand checkered at 69 euros. You would have to contact them directly (there is a link provided) to find out if they have these grips in stock at the present time. good luck and a Happy New Year to all. Pete

Ponyman 12-31-2005 12:01 AM

OK, found that. "Walnut, hand checkered" sounds like it could be the first option Doug offered at the top of this thread. Is "Nussbaum, standard geoelt" German for "Walnut, Smooth, Oiled"?

Snakeman 12-31-2005 01:13 AM

As that model is so light in color, I think that it is made out of hickory, so the translation would be: Hickory, stock, oiled (the word "nussbaum" can mean both hickory and walnut).

Put me in for one set of checkered grips, please.

Hugh 01-01-2006 12:20 AM

Snakeman,

The smooth ones are Walnut!

:bigbye: For those of you that want hand checkered NG grips for standard or grip safety models, or border checkered pattern, I will have them available after this shipment is received.

Snakeman 01-01-2006 04:13 AM

I stand corrected.

Ponyman 02-04-2006 11:04 AM

Any update on the status of the Purchase Order?

How many grips are currently on the list?
$70 spread over 20 grips wouldn't be bad!

Doug G. 02-04-2006 11:35 AM

I have requested a shipping quote from Nill. The last time I asked I was quoted $70! If it is that much it will make the grips too expensive to make worth while. Should have an answer by monday hopefully.

Help with grip group buy

Doug,

I have just completed a group buy of Nill P9S grips for the PCT and HKpro web sites. Derek who mods the Navy luger forum was the contact for HKpro group.

As I live in Germany (about 150 kilometers from the Nill factory), and through the P9S buy have developed a good working relation ship with Nill, I Would be glad to assist you in any way with your group buy.

I can ship the grips direct to the group using the Army Post Office system. that should save on some postage.

As long as the packages contain less than $400.00 worth of goods Customs is not a problem.

Please contact me if you have any questions. joepik "at" hotmail.com

Hugh, If NIL now has the early or post was Parabellum model grip safety type grips available, I would like to know more. Thanks, Tom Heller

Hugh 02-08-2006 11:31 PM

Tom,

They don't have them. I inlet for grip safety and fit to early frame myself.
Hugh

Ponyman 02-09-2006 10:02 AM

$400 would only cover 5 checkered or 6 smooth grip sets. That would result in a large number of packages and would probably increase the postage cost beyond any APO savings. But if the packages were sent to regional groups of buyers - rather than to one central agent (Doug G.) - for re-distribution, it might be worthwhile.

Doug, do you see any geographic "clustters" in the list of buyers?

Green57 02-09-2006 10:32 AM

Ponyman,

I would mail the grips directly to the buyer. The postage is from New York to your house. I used the priorty boxes for the P9S group buy. Cost was 3.85 plus insurance, I insured each P9S grip for $140.00 total cost was $7.05.

I'm not sure how much customs would be on the total order, or how long it would take to clear.

That's why its best to ship to each buyer and have each buyer pay for his own postage and insurance.

Just something to think about.

Green57

Edward Tinker 02-09-2006 10:35 AM

I think it is getting too complicated, this is always a problem on an international buy.

And unsure where the $400 comes from, anything over $100 (personal gift) and $200.00 for most items for imported items can have a customs charge....

http://www.cbp.gov/xp/cgov/import/in..._purchases.xml

Quote:

Packages whose declared value is under $200 ($100 if being sent as a gift to someone other than the purchaser) will generally be cleared without any additional paperwork prepared by CBP. However, CBP always reserves the right to require a formal entry for any importation and generally exercises this option if there is something unusual about the importation, or if important documents such as an invoice or bill of sale do not accompany the item.
Not to be negatvie, but I think the value of buying in volume is negated by the difficulties... However, if Doug goes forward, I'll pay my part of the customs, being the point of contact, he is responsible for everything until disbursement to everyone...

Green57 02-09-2006 11:05 AM

Ed,

The info you posted is for using the international postal system. The APO is run by the Army for those that are stationed overseas. The rules are basicly the same (as to what you can mail) as the U.S. Post Office, but their are a few more liberties granted to us than using the international system, one of them be the $400.00 customs limit. I will research it and find out for sure.

I will say this though. Out of the 28 packages that is sent for the P9S group buy the U.S. Post Office did manage to lose two of them. All the others were delivered in about twelve days. I will be filing the claims with the Post Office on the 15th of this month to recover the funds for the lost grips.

Green57

Edward Tinker 02-09-2006 11:30 AM

I was in the army for 20 years, overseas for 8, so I understand how the APO and FPO works. I also know that using the APO for non-personal use can get you into hot-water. I was selling on ebay and I had them question me on several occassions, which I thought was BS, but it is something to be aware of that you sure don't want your APO priveledges taken away!

Green57 02-09-2006 11:47 AM

Point noted. Just trying to help. Green57

Edward Tinker 02-09-2006 12:44 PM

absolutely, and we apprecaite it. I just don't want you geting your next christmas fruitcake from mom and it costing $55 international post :D

Ponyman 02-09-2006 04:51 PM

If we have enough grips on the list to qualify for the group discount and
Green57 is willing to do the individual packaging, it sounds like a good deal.

I vote for going ahead - with sincere thanks to Joseph!

Doug G. 02-10-2006 10:40 AM
