Okay, I can go either way on this; Is this a "a" suffix or a "d" suffix?

I think a D but its been a long week! :D

I had to read it three times to see what you meant ;) It has been a long week.

I tried using the polling buttons, but it would fail out each time?

It's a "d"....

;)

Edward Tinker 09-02-2005 10:43 PM

well the concensus is that its an 'a'.

okay, maybe a d...

John D. 09-02-2005 10:48 PM

Well, I disagree

Never seen a scriptic "a" with the leading edge that raises 1/3 or more above the body of the "a".

Let me look again....

Yep - It's still an "d"....

;)

I vote for d .

Anybody have some 1916 a and d suffix guns they can post pictures to compare?

I think it's a D.

Course what the hell do I know? I sold the only 1916 A suffix pistol I owned.

policeluger 09-03-2005 12:56 AM

its an "a"..........

Edward Tinker 09-03-2005 01:07 AM

I can't tell.
(Its four AM, I can't sleep cause dogs are raising hell over something in the woods and I've been on muscle relaxers and pain killers two weeks cause of my back. Have to replace a window today and cut up several downed trees from the storm. God knows that I'm better off than a whole lot of other folks though). I can go wake my wife up and ask her which one she thinks it is.

I am sorry about your back, i hate back-problems... And don't go wake her up!

I think its a d, but in the long run, it doesn't matter, was it made in the first 20 k that year or the first 50 k that year!

:o I vote "d"

Heinz 09-03-2005 11:57 AM

I think it may be a rare prototype x. Are there gold inlaid initials on it anywhere? :-)

Edward Tinker 09-03-2005 12:27 PM

Heinz, there can be if you want to send me $3,500 :D

Frank 09-03-2005 04:19 PM

Ed, it's a D!!!

Ron Wood 09-03-2005 05:56 PM

It is a "d".

feldm¼tze 09-03-2005 08:35 PM

It's a "d". Surely someone on the forum has another '16 dated DWM with an "a" suffix that could post a pic to verify.....

wlyon 09-03-2005 09:04 PM

My vote is for a D. Ihave a couple a's and they don"t look like yours. Bill

Lyn Islaub 09-04-2005 01:36 AM

Ed,
I just picked up a 1916 DWM, s/n 5115d and the suffix letter is identical to yours. My digital camera did the dead dog routine earlier this week, so I'll send you a scan next week after I buy a replacement.
Lyn

Vlim 09-04-2005 11:00 AM

I agree it's a d,

like in 'did da dead dog' :D

Ron Smith 09-04-2005 11:13 AM

Or D dubya M

John Sabato 09-05-2005 02:09 AM

Definitely a "D" IMHO
