Frigid
Minus 15F this AM. There's a lot of brass monkeys singing soprano out there. Or is it 'Castrati"?

That is cold for Boulder.
Bob |
25° F here in St. Louis, with freezing rain and sleet all day so far.
|
Poor fellows! It's very cold here in Yuma Az too! 66 degrees! Sunny with a slight breeze to move the palm fronds.
If it gets below 50 here people start wearing hooded parkas... Jerry Burney |
If it has to be,I am glad the storm is happening now and not for the Show of Shows in
Louisville coming up. Bob |
Oh, sorry....thought this post was gonna be about my ex-wife...

Okay Guys, I grew up in International Falls, Minnesota (The Ice Box of the Nation). Almost every Winter I saw 45 degrees below zero. Suck it it up minus 15 is a heat wave!!
|
Bob,
Boulder? That's Norme. I'm up on the first ridge at 8K. They're talking -20 tonight. Little snow though. We sent that to Chicage. FN |
Well guys here in Northern KY we've had a full day of freezing rain and ice, snow, rain and cold. Tomorrow we're going to have more of the same with the temp dropping off to 13. Today was my first day of retirement, wow what a good day to not have to go out.

Congraulations Bill, enjoy it!

Congratulations Bill. I've been retired for a little over 10 years and I highly recommend it. It won't be long until you wonder how you had time to work for a living because you have so much you want to do now. Live it and love it.

A little ice on the car and driveway this morning - the streets were clear. The ice on the cars vanished when it warmed up. It is almost 11 PM and the temperature is 34 degrees. The weather guy on Tv says it will only go to 30 tonoght. |
I won't bother you guys with tales of the 78 degree weather and balmy skies here in Miami!
|
Congrats Bill. Retirement is a big life change. More than most expect. I did it about 13 years ago, and it took me around 18 months to settle in. Then as they say," When did I ever have time to go to work."
Made it to -20 last night, but by Fri we're supposed to be back in the low 40's daytime. Dobers have to be booted out to pee. Got lots of firewood, pine and elm, so I'm in good shape here. FN |
I guess I just realized at least ONE advantage of living in the Peoples Republik of Kalifornia!

Lew1-Please check your PM.
Thank You; Bill |
Bill, congratulations!
I retired in 2004, and promptly went back out and started working again in a field I'd been interested in all my life. It's actually more like play than work (and we have really good "toys" at the office...). Now if we could only dispense with the office politics... Another few years of it, and I'll probably retire again! BTW, it's going to hit 70 degrees today in Raleigh, NC. I am from Chicago - you know, the city that you can't see any more...... I'm happy to have made that move... Marc |
