This is Pete, the new guy. He is a luv and has settled in nicely.

Fred, Mighty fine looking Friend you have there!
Jerry Burney |
Great dogs! My "Java" is lying on the couch, watching Yankees baseball...Mine is a rescue with a "lazy ear" (it flops down)...Lots of good times with my Dobes over the years...He has a female Weimaraner [Bonnie Blue] as company; usually lying on top of him...
(I've tried repeatedly to get a pic of them together, but as soon as they see the camera, they bolt for their hooches...) |

Fine looking animal. Here's our new one. When I tell people he is half Cocker Spaniel and half Great Dane it really raises some eyebrows.

Fred
Glad to see you got a new friend. I have always had a dog and they are always family. I know how you felt when you lost your last friend. Enjoy your new buddy. Bill |
Fred, Good for you. Pete is a handsome lad and I am sure that he will fill the void left by Jack.
Best to you, Vince |

ahhh, well done; and I see I am as usual in fine company of animals lovers :)
I miss my two little ones, Addy on the left and Holly on the right. |
Ed,
Beautiful Hunds. What are they? I'll bet they miss you as much as you miss them. Best to you, Vince |
FN,
He sure is a big puppy! Our two Border Collies are our best friends. Newluger |
For the last 50 years, I've had one or sometimes two Irish Setters at my side, would not live without one.

The border collie looking one, is mostly border collie, the other is mostly blue heeler; both are New Mexico rescues. We used to have Bernese Mountain Dogs, but they died and 3 dogs is enough for right now; not shown is the street dog my son rescued from Kuwait and shipped back here at great expense. Once part of your life, you don't discard them; Terry and I raised the boy right 'ey? Ed |
You sure did raise him right. Tell him I said a big THANKS for his service. We are with our 5th rescue Rottie and my son, Astan vet., has rescued 2 Rotties. Funny how once in a while something good sinks in between their ears, I mean, the kids ears. Best to you.

I got Pete from Rescue, I'm told because of a divorce. That he'd lived in an outside run for four months. Geeze! Dobers need their people! I took one look in his eyes, and read, "Are you for me? Get me outta here!" Done.
Now I'm being snuggled to pieces.... FN |

Pete looks like He needs a Mrs Pete!
|
Eric,
He has one, Ms Elf. See my avatar FN |
I don't know why I even questioned it. Some old Lawyer habits are hard to break!!!
|
Hey Fred,
Geez I thought that avatar was Jack. God bless you for the rescue. They give back so much more than we can ever give to them. We have not found a pal for Rowdy yet. Don't think we could ever replace our Maggie girl. Rowdy likes being the king of his Kingdom. He still has a little difficulty trying to bond with those really big dogs that we know as horses, but he is doing so well. Best to you always, Vince |
Fred,
The more I look at monsoor Pete, he reminds me of a customized Rottie. He looks so full of himself setting on the steps. |
Congratulations on a beautiful Dobie rescue!
When you rescue one out of a bad situation (neglect and even worse) and they discover a pack lead by a human that really loves his pack, it makes all the difference in the world! My little guy and girl (Both rescues) are kind of the opposite of your Dobies! Well, at least as far as fur goes... They are Bearded Collies: http://i959.photobucket.com/albums/a...e/_DSC1594.jpg http://i959.photobucket.com/albums/a...e/_DSC1575.jpg Marc |
