My collection of 1900's and 1906's
 

Well, I am still collecting Simson's, but I sold a few earlier in the year that were extras.


Dwight Gruber and I are almost finished with our Police Luger book (as an author, that means within the next 6 months, then another 3-4 months of publishing stuff; then it hits the street). Since I have taken detailed pictures of my police lugers (13, all but one unit marked and thinned them down to 4) I needed another area to try and learn. I decided on early lugers, specifically American Eagles.

My earliest is 6303 (in the traditional 6100-7100 for a Test Luger, but not a Bannerman number).

Next is a 10K reblue

then a 15k and two 18k and then I think 2 9mm american eagles

and far right is a 1970's Mauser NIB

Now that is my kind of goodies! It has been a long time since I have seen that many 1900 AE Lugers lined up together. Nice stuff Ed.

Nice set. I actually have a couple of AE decals that were used to mask off the area that needed to be etched away (the 1970s Mauser AE was actually etched, not engraved).

Feel so proud that I have one 1900 that can match Ed's. Almost sold it, but I changed my mind and decided to keep it.

I figured this was one of the last weekends I can play with my lugers for a year. Will be heading to Saudi Arabia nexxt Tuesday for a year of instructing the Saudi Army National Guard.

Those are cool, have an extra set Vlim?

in Military Police matters as a senior instructor; not sure what portion of my MP training interested them, I am an Advanced NCO Academy graduate, Force Protection Company instructor, Physical Security NCO for many years, or maybe they want some firearms (luger) instruction? ;)

I will have Internet connection in my room and we work 45 hr work weeks (many overseas jobs they work a minimum of 60 hrs); so yes, you will see me writing; and I am taking most of my treasured gun books ;)

I'm a little slow Ed. Didn't notice the New Model breechblock on the first 1900. Looks good but obviously a little out of place. Is it the US test range gun?

yes it is, never noticed it, as I had not placed these together and sometimes, well, I just don't know the differences :confused:

This one has a story, and why I have kept it.

Got it from a friend of mine; his father was at a hunting camp just across the Canadian border (water freezes the lakes in the winter), a french canadian came along, shared a meal and I guess they started gambling; he lost and at first wasn't going to "pay up", finally did and tossed the pistol to his dad.

The barrel is a mismatch, and the front toggle (although I had never noticed).

Ed, I have quite a few numbered M1900 breech blocks and other toggle parts (you may also need the center link, as they are not compatable with the later PO8 BB) if you care to send me the last 3 digits of your serial. I think that we would all be interested in learning what arms the Saudis are currently using and don't forget to check out the hidden corners of the arms locker for the obsolete "junk" that we all like. I was once in a US NG armoury that had several Remington UMC M1911a that they would have to destroy rather that sell and remember the US adviser to the Iranians, that ended up with a nice surplus presentation Persian luger as a parting gift for this services.
