Many thanks to George Anderson at helping me find three wanted Lugers at one time! A 1900, a American Eagle, and a "Test" Eagle at that, S.N 6764. Sad part is that it was buffed some and reblued. I hope to have "THOR" do what he can to bring it back to more it's original state. Some not so good pictures here. Will do much better pictures when "Thor" is finished.
Thanks,Bill

cirelaw 05-26-2010 10:30 AM

Did Ron figure out how many still exist?

Ron Wood 05-26-2010 10:53 AM

Eric,
To date the number of 1900 AE Lugers reported (I have no way of knowing how many still exist:)) with Test Trial characteristics are:

6100-7100 range - 338
5978-6099 range - 21
7108-7990 range - 154

Note: Numbers corrected, I was looking at an old list

Thank You Both. You are the keepers! Its amazing the these few are over 100 years old! Does anyone know what the 'Flaming Bomb' signifies

Ron Wood 05-26-2010 08:11 PM

It is a DWM inspector's mark, found on Lugers other than the Test Trials pieces as well.

cirelaw 05-26-2010 08:21 PM

Thank You Ron, I wonder how he came up with such a cute little symbol! I bet it was his wifes' tatoo.

alanint 05-26-2010 08:37 PM

The flaming Bomb is an early representation of the grenadier.

Perhaps its use as a proof was simbolic that this particular weapon did not blow up!!

cirelaw 05-26-2010 08:52 PM

Thank You Ron. Are they seen on any other models?
