New member with a question--PICS
I got this gun from my dad's, girlfriend's, brother's, friend who is very scared of guns. The guys brother died and had two guns (standard story :)), one was a nice walther ppk/s and the other was this Luger.
My dad emailed me one picture of each and said his girlfriends brother can get them for $100 each. I don't know lugers very well, but i did know that was basically armed robbery to pay that money......so obviously i bought both......... i only had the one picture until yesterday when i got both pistols so i took some more pictures last night and was hoping someone could tell me about the Luger. These were all the markings i could find. Im curious what each means.... like is the cursive writing on top a standard feature? it is chambered in 30 luger (came with some ancient ammo.) http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s...00/luger-1.jpg http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s...500/luger1.jpg http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s...500/luger2.jpg http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s...500/luger3.jpg http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s...0/luger4-1.jpg http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s...500/luger5.jpg http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s...500/luger6.jpg http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s...500/luger7.jpg |
Tommy, welcome to the forum. No pictures, but fairly easy to figure out how to post. I am guessing the cursive writing is the DWM (the manufacturer).

no pictures? really?
it's showing up for me in the thread. hmm i've never had a problem posting pistures online. does anyone see the pics? |

Trob, DWM ..Deutch Waffen & MachaninFabriken. Reblued, heavy buffing .30 Luger, Germany marked for importation into an English speaking country. Crown N is a commercial proof.
Worth $500-600 pretty nice shooter for a hundred bucks! Want to double your money? Jerry Burney |
very cool. thanks!
i don't really want to shoot the ammo that it came with because it looks like it was from the 70's (or maybe it would be fine?) , so what does a typical box of 30 Luger cost? and is it easy to find? i've never noticed it on the shelf but then again, i was never looking for it. thanks for the couple replies guys |
THEY AREN'T SHOWING UP AT MY WORK SITE, AS ADMIN, I SEE THAT YOU HAVE PHOTO BUCKET.

Tell us about the Walther. Photos?

ok here's the walther. again i don't know anything about it. So anything you can give me would help. Walther ppk/s .380.. would like to know what each marking means. (damn, this camera take good close shots!:))
thanks guys Oh and on that second pic of the luger, the mag catch wood is chipped off. the other side is perfect, but the right side got broken somewhere in it's life. still functions well . but it is kind of a drag. http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s...altherppks.jpg http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s...ltherppks1.jpg http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s...ltherppks2.jpg http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s...0/IMGP0828.jpg http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s...0/IMGP0831.jpg http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s...0/IMGP0829.jpg |
It's a late '70s (HI code) production Interarms import. PPKS (Polizei Pistole Kurz or Short Police Pistol) is the designation or Model. The "S" indicates that it's a 1968 compliance long grip frame. Basically a PPK slide on a PP frame. These are top of the line and great carry pistols, worth as much as the Luger , if not more.
BTW, 9mm Kurz is known in the U.S. as .380 ACP. Ammo is relatively inexpensive and easy to find. A very good self defense caliber. You scored... Ron |
Very nice purchase. Consider yourself LUCKY to have found at least $1000 worth of firearms for only $0.20 on the dollar...
