Eric, thanks again for your input,

Looking at the WWII photos that you have posted I think I can call myself lucky as my grandfathers took part in the WWI, and my father in the WWII, so I had first hand informations about those years from them.
I still remember that I used to listen carefully to their tales, repeated over and over to me, but now I regret that when I repeat those same things to my daughters they don't seem to pay the same attenton, probably because since I was born in 1954 the echoes of the WWII were still there.
I post two famous photos by Robert Capa related to the landing of the US troops in Sicily 72 years ago.
I'd like to close saying that now we probably tend to forget to thank the many Americans that died after that landing to free mainly the South ad the Center of this Country.

Bob Hope some where in the Pacific~ Bob used his own brand of medicine! My Grandma knew Francis Langford who was married to Ralph Evinrude. Their Outrigger Restaurant was and still is is on the Indian River, in Jensen Beach. They docked their beautiful and large yacht, the 'Chanta Claire' behind their restaurant~I only remember her large dresses that they all wore late 50s. She was a definite "Hottie" and a wonderful and generous classy women! They helped fund FIT, Florida Institute of Technology here in Jensen Beach~ dhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j2CD2MXSTTU

Sergio Its a favorite of mine! Ralph Shattuck and Fred Datig the first three below who have since passed away! Charles Kenyan of Lugers At Random is in photograph four! Charles did more than anyone to bring to our attention the vast numbers and varieties of lugers. He only scratched the surface! He opened eyes and price rose acordingly. This video should be a must see for all kinds of luger collectors both old and new! Its a reminder why we love and collect them. Sorry for the poor quality of pictures. I'm having to photograph off my screen! Thanks again Sergio for your friendly support and interest!~ Eric

The photo shows Bob Hope firing a 1919A4 BMG from the hip, "John Wayne" style. The similar photo below shows a soldier in the same pose firing the earlier 1917 BMG
