Update for anyone who watches the HBO series “Westworld”, but Season 2 episode 3 had the use of an artillery Luger in the beginning.

I watched the movie JOURNEY INTO FEAR over the week end. It was made in 1942. It starred Orson Wells and Joseph Cotton. Seems everyone was carrying a Luger. In one seen three men were pointing Lugers at the same man. One of the last scenes, a bad guy threw his Luger at Cotton and it fell to the cement, ouch.

There is a Charles Bronson movie called "Violent City" that I watched on Amazon Prime. In the movie Bronson picks up a Luger in a gun fight and never runs out of bullets even when the toggle is held open. Fun to watch, cheesy but fun.

Maybe already posted, but I saw one today in "The Comedians" A very non comedy movie about 50s Haiti. A Ton-Ton Macoute officer shot Alec Guiness with it before being shot by some aspiring rebels.

In CHARADE there is a scene with Walter Mathau where you can just make out the serial number on the Luger... it is 7080.

Watched the movie "Gorky Park" last night. A Luger figured prominently in a couple of scenes including one in which it was used to kill an individual in a Russian bath house.

The Spanish TV series "Jaguar" has many scenes with a Luger. It has fancy grips with an E/S on it.
In one scene on a beach, the Luger is being shot but there is a slide moving straight back and straight forward. Obviously a Luger in appearance only. |

There is a series on PBS Masterpiece that I found on Amazon Prime called “World on Fire” on season one shows Polish underground luring unsuspecting German soldiers with a pretty girl into a compromising position and then executing them using a Luger. Good series.

Star Wars: The rise of Skywalker (2019) was on TV this week.
It features an English actor Daisy Ridley shooting a laser pistol that appears to be a modified luger. At least it has the toggle grips and slanted grip...you decide ! |
The French TV Series "Murder In ..." frequently has Lugers, all (supposedly) captured by the Resistance during WWII. Subtitle series has each murder in a different area of France and shows the highlights of that area. Old Castles and fortifications, cathedrals, cave systems etc.

A Luger is the murder weapon used in the first season of the Marlow Murder Club on PBS this week.
I am still trying to get a closeup of the 9mm brass, but the head stamp looked very fanciful. The pistol didn't get a close-up until the last episode (#4). It's an interesest mixed parts pistol. |
