Anyone heard from Eugene lately? I wonder how many more have been delivered...Bill

Edward Tinker 11-16-2018 07:39 PM

I have not heard, although two close friends are waiting for theirs and should have received months ago...

LugerMan.com 11-16-2018 08:31 PM

Hi guys,
We have 8 guns that have been lingering,
Some due to the fact that new batch of mags just have been finished, some due to the fact that we were 2 man short for the past 2 month. We are back on track this week,
2 guns have been shipped, 4 more going out next week and soon 2018 deliveries will start.

Edward Tinker 11-17-2018 12:22 AM

Eugene, what is the total shipped so far? I realize your # in line was not always the # number that went out in order....

So, 2018 deliveries will start going out in 2019???

Still waiting on my Baby 45 Luger and Baby P38. 6500 may not be much money to some members here but to a retired working stiff it certainly is.

I recently added a 2006 hayabusa to my stable of bikes.Paid 5500. In 2006 it was the fastest production motorcycle , 193 mph top end and 10 sc quarter mile. A lot of machine for the money.

So, what do we invest in ? The bikes will never be worth more than what i paid -----

Rick

DonVoigt 11-17-2018 10:19 AM

$6500 is a lot of dough to anyone I know. :)

gunbugs 11-17-2018 11:39 AM

Just did a self check. 6500.00 is real money to this guy as well. That buys 3 or possibly 4 nice S/42 lugers.

lugerholsterrepair 11-17-2018 12:01 PM

I have always been interested in statistics..Statistics about money and income are actually fascinating. They say that most Americans would have a tough time scraping up $500 in an emergency. On the other hand, in this retirement community I know people who get a check for 5K+ in retirement every 30 days.

HerrKaiser 11-17-2018 12:24 PM

Jerry, that stat about not being able to come up with $500 comes from people in my age demographic.

DavidJayUden 11-17-2018 12:36 PM

"They say that most Americans would have a tough time scraping up $500 in an emergency". It scares me to think of how bad things will get when, not if, things go south the next time.

Quinton, If it's any consolation, I was broke most of my younger years. The older you get the smarter about money you get. How to make it and most importantly how to keep it and make what you keep work for you. Most of the money I ever made was in real estate. Easier to do 40 years ago.

My biggest mistake was working for myself all these years. A retirement pension someone else pays for is a golden opportunity but comes with trade offs.

Hi,

Many years ago, you should have spoken to your CPA about a Keogh Self Employed Pension Plan.

I'm sure glad that I did!!!

So, back to the original subject. I ordered my .45 cal. Luger from Eugene in August 2017 with a projected ship date of December 1017. Friday this week, Eugene told me that it will ship tomorrow, Monday the 19th of November 2018.
I've been given estimated ship dates before, for this pistol, that have not yet come to fruition, so come tomorrow we'll see how valid this promised one is. Communication is not one of Eugene's better skillsets and that is not likely to improve.
Lyn

gunbugs 11-18-2018 01:15 PM

As I have learned when given estimates, always double the time and the money, then you may be close to reality.

rammercmc 11-18-2018 02:16 PM

Lyn,

I ordered my Baby 45 in FEB of 2017 and ordered the baby P38 in mar of 2017. I knew the baby luger would require more machining so knew it would be one of the last of the original 50 to get shipped. Eugene told me SIX weeks on the P38 -----!!! You should be happy if you get yours in the near future.

Just changed the subject to cheer myself up-----

rammercmc 11-20-2018 03:20 PM

It seems we all have a lot of common interests.Always had a love for guns, started collecting when I was a kid. Bought my first luger an S42 when I was stationed at Eglin AFB back in 67. I paid 90 dollars. Then I started collecting and restoring old outboards. Ran out of room and got hooked on pocket watches and watch tools. Needed a lathe and mill to fab some parts for my motors ----led to collecting antique machine tools.

I have a hundred projects I will never get around to but I quit being concerned about it.Now I try to ride one of the bikes any day it is warm enough and enjoy time with a good book living one day at a time.

Did you get it? What is your serial number?

Ben M. 11-27-2018 10:10 AM

for older members who wait for delivery. make sure your family knows of this order and have email or other paperwork to prove deposit was made. if member happens to pass away before gun is received, the family can still insist on a delivery.

question: if member decided to not wait any longer, will eugene give deposit back after many delivery promises are not met?

Lyn Islaub 11-27-2018 12:53 PM

Did I get it yet?? Of course not, as I'm guessing that I'm still on Eugene time. I did speak to him yesterday; however and he said he would ship it today. The day is not over, so we shall see.
Lyn
PS: I love the advice from Ben, as it is salient. I'm just not sure, at 73, if I'm one of the older members, or just average in age, knowing many of you.

I thought he told you that he was senidng it 'tomorrow' and that was last Tuesday?

Lyn Islaub 11-27-2018 09:49 PM

There is a Tuesday every week and obviously I picked the wrong one. Actually, I had really hoped that my fantasies had held true and that it would ship this week. So far, fantasies are just that.

2bnag 12-01-2018 09:59 PM

got it yet???

gunbugs 12-02-2018 01:00 PM

I'm pretty sure when anyone gets their 45, they'll post in big bold letters, FINALLY GOT IT!!! Sound of crickets inserted here....

Edward Tinker 12-02-2018 02:05 PM

I know a member that will pick his up tomorrow at his FFL....

If his arrived, wasn't Eugene saying he was doing them in batches?

BTW - I know a member that wants to sell his - nothing wring with it, just decided he wants something else.
PM me if interested with your email and I'll send info to her.

2bnag 12-04-2018 11:25 AM

Ed: Do you know what the serial number is? I am waiting on one also, supposed to ship in December (Eugene time)...Bill

Lyn Islaub 12-04-2018 09:39 PM

Got it!!!!! Just showed up at my FFL unannounced, but who's complaining. At least I have it and it's beautiful.

gunbugs 12-04-2018 10:27 PM

SEE? That's what I was expecting. Makes me wish I was your FFL guy....

G.T. 12-05-2018 12:42 PM

On the way!

Eugene just wrote me yesterday and said mine is on the way as well?... Going to be a good Christmas!... best to all, til….lat'r…..GT

DavidJayUden 12-05-2018 01:37 PM

If we just leave him alone he does get stuff done.

Bill,
It doesn't matter with regard to shipping, Eugene ships the oldest order first; since folks could "choose" a serial number- they ship out of sequence.

2bnag 12-06-2018 08:59 PM

I didn't "choose" one, didn't know you could request one. My "assigned" serial number is 65, supposed to ship 4th quarter 2018...Bill

G.T. 12-10-2018 07:14 PM

Happy, Happy, Happy! Joy, Joy,!

My .45 Model 1907 Lugerman serial # 35 artwork arrived about 3:00 pm today, and my FFL dealer / friend immediately called me to pick it up, and that's what I did!!!!! And, I'm very happy with the unit, as happy as I can be without shooting it yet? But the look and feel is spot on. It is a nice example of combining new and old tech to end up with a working replica .45 test Luger. I will report more after a range visit, but I really am pleased with it, even if I never push a round downrange!.....Good Job Eugene.. Worth the wait... Best to all, til….lat'r…..GT....

lugerholsterrepair 12-10-2018 07:26 PM

even if I never push a round downrange! Why would you say that GT? These guns were MADE for shooting. You are not seriously considering NOT shooting it are you?

G.T. 12-10-2018 07:53 PM

Me, shoot?

Hi Jerry, yes, it will most certainly get tested.. but for me, as I don't see so good, it is just to hear it go bang!... I'll take some dead eye guys with me and we'll see what it is made of... :).. best to you Jer, til….lat'r….GT...

Curss 12-17-2018 05:53 PM

Hope ya feel better soon G.T.!

hayhugh 01-12-2019 03:27 PM

Well GT what is the range report? Been a month!

G.T. 01-12-2019 03:44 PM

getting to the range!

Hi to all, yes, it's been a month, but unfortunately, it was a month filled with drum repair...... haven't yet made it to the range... But have shown it around a bit to my buddies here in Mesa and Chandler.... soon... best to all, til...lat'r….GT:cheers:

DavidJayUden 01-12-2019 04:41 PM

Well I had mine out the other day for its annual trip to the range. Shot just under a box of Wolf Russian ammo thru it without a hitch. It still prints a bit low and left, but that's OK. It actually feels a lot like a Luger, only bigger...
Now it's all cleaned up and put away.
