When it sat at the Smithsonian's Paul Garber Restoration Facility in Suitland, Maryland. The facility has either been renamed or it no longer exists. We had the opportunity to climb into a number of historic aircraft. I'm guessing that is more difficult to do nowadays.

What I find odd is the different script between the historic photo and the fuselage we are standing in front of. Our fuselage was DIFINITELY the Original Enola Gay.

We were members of the Smithsonian's Restoration Facility and were priviledged to private tours. The guides were very tolerant in the 70s-80s about letting us pretty much examine what we wanted at the facility.

yep. His jacket is now on display at the US Airforce Museum in Dayton, Ohio.
