I have had to stand back and ponder the effort with these 45 Lugers from a lot of points of view. I really never thought I would see these made again, but glad that I was flat wrong. A wondrous thing to be sure.

800 hp automobiles within my grasp as well; just splendid days. Probably will not cure grey hair or maladies, but does the spirit good.

I thought the same way about the automag as well, but again wrong I see..................(and somewhat glad of it in both firearm cases)

I have finally managed to dial in things on the lathe to a tenth, with that managed, I am thinking the art form in some of these pistols is the more daunting task.

I know variety sells, but also some pitfalls in over extending.

I have grown to distrust information in books(some use book info as a weapon) and other reading materials, but one thing about them, the pictures can be right useful. The old thousand words routine I reckon.

John, Tom never owned a .45 cal Luger.

Geo, the article is on Van Papen and yes, I seem to remember seeing one, but it was a regulation, blued model

Sorry for the confusion but this thread travels like an unending roller coaster.

Tom did own a 1908 first military that had provenence to von Papen in the First World War.

Thanks for the update Ed, and George for the quick response... sorry I wasn't clear about which Luger of Tom's I was asking about.

I also remembered discussing a Luger with provenance to von Pappen with Tom over lunch one day in Centerville... but I never actually saw it in person so wasn't sure if it was engraved or not.

Tom Armstrong did own an engraved presentation Luger. It was a Kreighoff that was presented to Auslands Gauleiter Bohle. I finally sold it last year thanks to the help of a fellow forum member.

Yes, I do remember that one. Mighty fancy BBQ gun as Hugh Clark would call it.... :)

What we are privileged enough to see is a historical photograph. A proud accomplishment in our lifetime. Keep it up Eugene! Kudo's my Friend.

Sorry , 35 is in the next 8 we are working on now.
Theses are remaining early orders.

Each gun has been to the range at least 3 times,
Tested with 9 different kinds of ammo.
And all magazines were tested as well.

They do have preferred round, but work with all we tested.

People please shoot your guns...

I got my gun yesterday afternoon and I was so pleased the fit and finish is out standing going to the range Saturday morning

Well weather cooperated for one day and went to my gun club to shoot some trap and brought the 45 Luger to try it out. You know right away it’s definitely not 9mm Luger when you pull the toggle back.
Four of us took turns shooting at clay birds set into a dirt berm at 25 yards. One of the shooters opined that it was comfortable to shoot, very little kick, everyone agreed; it is sweet to shoot. No targets just clay birds at 25 yards and several hit the birds, not me, old eyes, but close. My opinion is very accurate gun. Need to try it on targets with a rest when weather cooperates. Looking at 3-6” of snow predicted. April???
I’d say Eugene AKA, Lugerman has got a winner, beautiful gun, accurate, comfortable to shoot, reliable.

Gerry, did you receive yours yet??? Just curious as to the timeline from paid order to delivery now... :)

G.T. 08-18-2018 08:59 PM

Not yet?

Hi Rich, Nope! Nothing yet... I'm still optimistic because of others having received theirs?... But, it's a horse race between receiving my .45 and tipping over from old age?... :)…. Also, with me, hope springs eternal... Thanks for asking though, I haven't heard much recently... that may be a good sign... best to all, til...lat'r....GT....

G.T.

You have waaaaaay more patience concerning these 45cal Lugers than I would have!!!! I will keep my fingers crossed for you. :)

G.T. 08-20-2018 12:14 PM

How many?

BTW, that's a good question, how many of the 2017, I think quantity 40, .45 lugers are now out in customers hands?... Maybe the members don't want to say, but I'd be interested?... Who now has one in hand???? Best to all, til...lat'r....GT...

DonVoigt 08-20-2018 03:46 PM

I have mine, since May I think.

rammercmc 08-21-2018 09:05 AM

GT

I would be curious to know how many members here ordered one. I knew requesting a baby luger I would probable be one of the last in the first batch to receive mine even though I may well have put my order in earlier than others. I am sure it will be worth the wait.

G.T. 08-21-2018 01:31 PM

hope so!

I agree so far.... but I'm really anxious to get the unit, now sooner than later..... Maybe today!!!!! Nawwwww ...:)…. GT.....
