A note on the first photo of a forum member's son firing the Lewis Gun...it was Tom Armstrong's Lewis Gun which was used in the making of the first "King Kong" movie as well as "The Sand Pebbles" and "The Wild BUnch". It is now for sale.

George, the MP-18's, are they in the range that old retired guy on a fixed income could afford ?

Harry, The MP18 George has is owned by another fine Gentleman JS. They are quite rare. You are much better off with an MP40.

I can not remember when I last saw an MP-18 for sale.

While doing some research on the MP18, I ran across this picture of a Policeman in Berlin, looks as though they didn't carry their snail drums in a canvas pouch like the soldiers. Anybody know what this guy is using ?

He's using his belt and may be Freikorps rather than police. Note that he is also armed with a Navy Luger. This is a well known photograph.

Here is a picture of my Nazi police belt buckle, it is very similar to the one he is wearing in the picture. Bottom picture is a Freikorps buckle, also simliar, hard to tell

Add it up..By todays standards this young fellow is wearing $25-30,000 worth of armament!

Harry, The MP18 is also delicate and prone to breakage compared to the robust MP40

Harry..One other thing about your buckle..This guy couldn't have been wearing one like yours..from his uniform and the weapons he is carrying ..the Nazi's had not yet come to power.
