I've always liked the idea of a president with a military background. I was disappointed that Colin Powell wasn't interested. Or perhaps his party just wasn't interested in him... :(

It will be interesting to have a business man at the top for a change.

The Republicans were trying to draft him to replace Dubya, but he wasn't interested. The word inside the beltway was that he considered running but didn't want to drag his family into the cesspool we call American politics.

Dupya is Polish for Ass!

wenxuecity.com has a post using an analog to describe the difference between Clinton and Trump, let's see...

Say, President position is like a bus driver. As a bus driver, Clinton will stop at each station, and let as many people coming on board as possible. Sounds like a good driver? at least for the people waiting the bus, she's good. But for the people in bus, bus riding quality is becoming lower and lower. People sitting in VIP position in the bus like this driver too, crowd? not in their area, they can even benefit from selling more bus tickets out.

Trump as a bus driver, he will pass many stations without stopping. For people waiting bus, this must be a bad driver. For many people on board, the riding experience could be better (don't know yet, we will see).

This analog does not cover globalization and immigration well, but ... after reading it, it's hard to say it's totally nonsense. Many riders want to change a driver in this election.

Hillary Clinton, the apparent loser in the recent U.S. presidential race, should ask for voting recounts in three states, a group of voting security experts and election lawyers have said, and new results could swing the outcome of the election.

Wisconsin to recount US presidential election vote after hack concerns

The Wisconsin Elections Commission has decided to recount the votes in the state in the last U.S. presidential elections, after concerns were raised that the voting systems can be hacked.

The party that insisted Trump accept the results..now wants to contest the results! And they say Trump flip flops? Voting machines cannot be "hacked" from afar. A tempest in a teapot.

rolandtg 11-26-2016 03:20 PM

Actually, it's the Green Party that is initiating the recount.
And electronic voting machines are totally "hackable", especially from up close.
The security on many of the older electronic systems in use by various states is frankly crap.
Personally I know too much about computers to ever trust any electronic system, even scanners.
:(
Either way, unless they find find something glaringly obvious and utterly incontrovertible in the way of some kind of voting anomaly I do not see it making any difference in the outcome of the election.

I do not intend this post to be an endorsement of the recount or any party, it's merely my opinion.
