Being on the outside looking in when it comes to holsters I can truthfully say that in reading all the candid exchanges it is akin to to having the opportunity of sitting at a table and just listening to the knowing exchange their collective knowledge. I learned a lot -- thanks !!
Best Regards, Wayne |
This has been a VERY educational discussion and ANALYSIS. Bill Lyon's pictures demonstrating Gerry's points especially helpful.
Thanks to all!! Ron |
I agree, I think this was one of the most instructive threads, some sort of "high school" on holsters, especially for me as I'm not a holster expert.
|
I only know what I've learned here and from a few books but it's the eagle that is the biggest flag to me.
The quality of the leather work is pretty good but the stamping on the back just looks bad to me. |
I'm very far from being an holster connossieur, but I simply believe that the Germans made those holsters in War period and those holsters were made to be used, I generally prefer to be wary of things that look too new, as they used to say: "If it looks too good to be true, it most likely is not true!"
Kind regards to all. |
Wow! You all just doubled the amount of knowledge I have about holsters. Nuggets like these are why I love this forum. Thanks

holsters from what I have read. That holster looks like it was made last week, at least to me it does. Just my observation. Fred |

Hello guy, I have that black 1941 police from ebay for $550.00. It does not smell of leather nor does it smell musty...not a smell I've smelt before. Talking about the belt loops thread on the inside exposed I have seen this on another 1941 sindel on Ebay now for sale at 595.00 check it out. I too am having a hard time with this one...

I consider his opinion the last word on this subject. |
Yes but I think he may be wrong about the inside thread...Remember this was 1941...Germans were going into Russia...they didn't have the same time or materials to make a holster like they did in 1939....war changes everything... Did you look at other holster from 41, the same thing...Can some one explain this to me?
