Some have actually worked to bend a little more tightness in the L lever... but this is a hardened part and VERY subject to breakage... unless you are a machinist, I would not use this solution.

There is NO bending this lever. Unless you are a metalurgist and can take it's temper off and then re temper it. It's hard as a rock and like glass.

A shim in the trigger slot is the way to go. You can also cut a small piece of aluminum can and wrap it around the tip of the trigger lever, to take up the slack.

If you want to do a permanent modification to the trigger parts, the proper way is to solder a shim to it, not by bending and tweaking.

In any case don't worry too much about damaging the lever, since it is an unnumbered part that can be easily replaced if damaged.

The L shaped trigger lever can be bent, but it's a VERY touchy operation and best left alone by anyone who hasn't tried it before. The shim / JB Weld thing in the trigger slot can be done, but its a jury rig job. My suggestion is that if you are determined to do the job yourself, is to bend the tab on the sideplate. Yes, the metal is quite hard, but nowhere near the RC harness of the trigger lever. It's an angular thing, and very little bend is required to tighten up the fit. You need access to a small/medium vise firmly mounted. Place the tab of the sideplate in the jaws about 3/4 of the way down. Use heavy solid cardboard, like the back panel of a notepad, on both sides of the tabs in the jaws to cushion it. Its best to slightly heat the tab with a propane torch, not enough to discolor the part , before mounting in the vise. Then, with your gloved thumb, firmly push from the back of the sideplate (where the lever is), forward firmly to put a slight outwards angle to the tab....doesnt take much. Start with less than you think you need. test fit, repeat, test fit repeat. I've done this on several Lugers with complete success. Again though, if you dont feel confident in trying, consider other options.

That sounds a bit trickier that trying to close the trigger lever a couple thou.
This will give me some things to mull over.

I adjusted the trigger lever.
Not my best group for being close (7 yds), but it was nice just to shoot it! And they were all on the paper anyway.
