B close up

If you can find a friend with a closeup lens on a camera it would be very helpful. We need to see fine enough detail to determine if the c/N is stamped, engraved, or pantographed.

So apparently it does have hold open latch , spring it flattened.

Dwight Gruber 01-23-2013 09:13 PM

Very much better, thank you. Good enough to see that the c/N and barrel serial numbers are clearly pantographed. Authentic proof marks and serial numbers are stamped, without exception.

Also glad to see the witness mark, notice that the barrel flange is slightly smaller than the receiver, and the witness mark itself is a hash of strikes, neither characteristic of DWM "fit andf finish."

So what do we have here?
A re barreled p08 short frame , value?

Classic Captain 01-27-2013 10:27 PM

Thank you all, for your expertise . I have withdrawn from purchasing this Luger.

is seems like the barrel shoulder flange is very thick. is this normal or an indication of a replacement barrel?

alanint 01-28-2013 02:13 PM

Ben,

This is an aftermarket, not quite finished barrel that someone placed on the gun and force matched with spurious barrel markings.

You are correct in that the flange is too thick.

Classic Captain 01-29-2013 12:41 AM

Had I known you were in Miami , Alanint . I would have had you inspect it.
I am in Miami Beach.

I would have been glad to take a look, although I am no expert.
