Sadly, Bar-Sto will no longer provide the extended and/or uncommon caliber barrels they once did. (Perhaps your friend is well-known to them, or a writer for a popular gun magazine).

They used to make a "38 Super/Nonte" barrel for the S&W 39/59/659 series, in 5" length...I wrote them about a year or so ago, and they emailed me that it had been discontinued...I couldn't even find any 39/59/659 barrels on their listing... :(

They had a good selection of offerings, some years back. I hadn't noticed any article or posting anywhere as to why they have cut back. Perhaps it's like the Clymer reamer company; sold out to a corporation and now only available through Brownells... :mad:
