You could measure the length, and number of coils of your old mainspring; and the wire diameter.
And report here.

If your ejector was a "crappy" aftermarket part; its breaking is just bad luck.

Reason 2. Your problems of not going on battery seem to have been "ejector giving up the ghost" related.

Reason 3. When faced with a "mechanical" problem in a Luger (or most things for that matter), change one thing at the time to find out where the problem is.

You don't change the engine of a car because at some moment it starts choking past some revs.*

Edit. * Perhaps at this day and age that's what they do. But I'm from an older breed.:D

Haha, I appreciate the insight! I had not connected the not returning to battery issue to the ejector but I suppose it's possible.

And I said that because Lugers go on battery more based on momentum than on spring action. If you retract the breechblock a quarter of an inch, it won't (it shouldn't) close on it's own.

I contacted GT and he is sending me some original ejectors to try out so hopefully I'll have more success with one of them. He's throwing in some extractor springs too so now I have a couple of different things I can try.

But do check the spring "while you wait".

Will do! I'll check it tomorrow and report back. Thanks!

As mentioned above, I do have both original and new repro PO8 ejectors in stock. Either type may require some fitting, depending on your luger. TH

Always nice to do a "forensic" study of these Luger issues with a little help from your friends on this forum. Very interesting stuff, guys. Bill
