Thank you for the detailed feedback,

You are absolutely correct, we do value feedback very much so.

Only wish all owners of the guns we send out, voice there findings.

These guns are first 40 produced.
And some field trial corrections are expected.
And feedback is very much needed for improvement of the product in the future.

Even so we shot every gun and prototype over 7000 rounds total,
We have been working on the gun for so long, and faced meany problems in the process of making this gun fully functional and reliable gun.
There is possibility that some little things like, take down spring and need to slam the mag in, just did not bother us as much.

We think the easiest way to correct the problems will be for us to send a new take down spring, and replacement magazine catch with corrected profile.
And you can send the original catch back after you try the new one.

We are all waiting for a range report.

If you think about it, never before the 45 Luger was out, in the field and properly tested.

The 45 luger had been shot and tested in the trials of 1907 and a lucky few shot the gun after with very limited amount of ammunition.

So think about this 40 guns as a chance to participate in 1907 Army extended field test that never happened originally.

Because Luger refused the order to supplie the guns.

And just as Luger would have supported and welcomed Army feedback , we are thankful for it now.

And hoping improve the guns function.

So please shoot your guns and report back.

FYI:
Prototype #4 featured in the article returned home this week.

it has a job to do.
It's a promotional tool.
It will travel to other publications and web sites for reviews.

It is also a test subject that will be fired many more rounds, to find weak spots of the design for future improvements to design.

I still have frames numbered 47 and 48 from 2017 run.

I do not have slides for them, slides are been run now and in 10-12 weeks these two frames will be dressed in to fully functional guns.

One of them will serve as a base for 10mm carbine that will stay in house.
Another frame is going to be up for grabs.
Estimated availability of that one gun is 3 month.
We are also working on target toggle, so it may end up with a target toggle and heavy profile high post barrel I am thinking 8 inch or so.

With most of the small parts already milled for the next 50 units for 2018, most with overruns to 60 - 90 counts.
We got slides to do (8-10 weeks); frames (16-20 weeks) and we will start assembly of 2018 units in the sequence of the incoming orders.

If anyone here has any means of publishing a review that will get visibility
and interested in receiving a Luger 45 #4 to play with for a week or two please let me know, we can arrange a delivery to an FFL of your choice.

Eugene, I hope Hickok45 on YouTube gets a chance to try it out and review it. He's quite popular, and a great place for exposure.

I attempted to contact him, but was turned down. If anyone has any personal connection and can help get the spot under his sunlight , that will help. I got some sort of feedback that they only review guns in production. Which I know is not true, as they reviewed c96 Mauser and WWII lugers. I found that strange.

In the meantime, you might consider a youtube video of your own. Show the gun in detail, and show somebody (I volunteer! :evilgrin: ) shooting it.

"Forgotten Weapons" may be interested in it too.

They actually are interested and that's were it's going next.

Just trying to turn history to an alternative pass, and see what would have happen if the 1907 Luger was adapted after the trial .

I believe it is a very valid competition to a 1911 Colt and given right conditions like competition shooting, will outperform 1911 due to the design differences.

It is also much easier to customize then most modern handguns, as the gun changes with just the size of the barrel and different toggle,
not meany platforms can offer that.

Hello to all forum members, due to many demands for Stainless Steel Luger in 45, we decided to include a limited run of 10 units in current production.

They will carry $800 premium over standard guns due to material cost almost 3 times the hi carbon steel.

Material will be 420 stainless hard-enable to 55R. We running slides for 2018 run and included 10 of SS slides in it.

2 of the units already sold.

Estimated delivery 06/2019 as other small parts will need to be run with 2019 batch of parts.

Example is a Hi carbon steel gun in the white with 4 inch,
shorter than standard barrel marketed as a Luger 45 Carry model.

I would be honored to review your masterwork, Eugene. I have a fair bit of international street cred as a researcher of Swiss, French, and German pistols. Additionally, I would recommend calling upon Leroy Thompson, the most learned gun scholar currently active.

Eugene, What is the most difficult step in production? Do you use a laser to inscribe?

Frames are the hardest and longest, at almost 6 month last time around. With some walls as small as 0.020-0.030 of an inch .

We use mechanical engravers for letters and numbers and some are CNC machined in.

Wood is hand checkered.

Lugerman is spending a lot of time answering these questions when he could be working on his projects.

But to many to list anyways.

Time it takes is over a week overall at about 200 man hours

About 50 a year maxed out, 5 people full time on it,
and 2 CNC centers

Thanks for pointing that out! I believe there are in excess of fifty individual parts! Like strokes of a brush on a painting~ Each is individually mastered to fit into the finished product! Just as Perfect!

We actually make over 70 of individual parts and there variations for all the models of the 45 Lugers we offer.
That includes all the springs, pins and everything else we make in the shop.

I know what a huge undertaking this must be, and I appreciate the entrepreneur who is willing to put it all on the line to make a vision into a reality.

I feel same way. Even so I have to say having a Gold Luger is kind of cool In a non collector kind of way.
Finish is a subcontracted ordeal, and does not take away anything from our time, that is if anyone actually wants one.

I do not like what some folks refer to as "pimped up" Lugers. But oddly enough, I almost find that gold .45 attractive. I must be getting soft in the head. :) ((and I do like the 4-inch barrel)

Another likely BS story. Why would a diplomat give a engraved police luger to another diplomat( whom he did not like according to all I've read)?

The sear safeties were not installed by Mauser, so that part of the story is pretty much wrong, though the holes were drilled at Mauser-the spring was added by the police themselves- again according to reference books.

I believe this luger has been discussed before and there is also some strange wording in the inscription, IIRC.

But for sure it is an engraved, gold plated luger!:evilgrin:

Any one here knows the engraver that can replicate this type of work, let me know,

we can try make one of 2018 guns in to fully engraved masterpiece.
