Artillery? I don't think Sean said he bought an artillery......he was looking for just a matching standard Luger, and that's what I think he bought. Am I right Sean? Incidentally, if you send your pics to me at neveragain18@sbcglobal I'll post at least some of them for you.

Thanks Aaron, I will send to you tuesday. Artillery? You look at the symbols on the ?BACK? of the gun and tell me. Sean......
I.N.4. is on the rear of the gun. The pix will show all. Thanks, Sean.....
Aaron, I copyed and pasted your address, did not let me send. Did not recognize the address. Sean

An artillery model has an 8 inch barrel...and an adjustable rear sight... even if you got a standard model... sounds like you got a winner to me... if it IS an artillery model... all the better... I guess I was confused by the photos of the artillery in this thread...

A little more.

What is this marking? And why there? Thanks, Guys! |
Is there a place I can get a "hold open" device #'d to my gun, to make myself feel better? Thanks!
Lots of holdopens are not marked... just get one without a number... marking one with the number you want will not make it a matching number gun... they are only considered matching if they still have the exact same parts they left the factory with...
Thanks John. Any Idea where to get it & are they all the same? Sean.....
Lugerdoc should have what you need... you will want one with the spring already attached... they don't usually require too much fitting...
The pic (#5), (1.N.4.) What is this marking on the rear of the gun? Meaning? And why is it there? Thanks.
Sean,
That is a non-standard mark, so it may take a while for someone to come up with an identification. It is most likely a unit designation, but it could be a property or museum catalog number. Hopefully someone will have a reference, but it is a long shot. |
Thanks Ron. I would love to know. Sean.....
