Ron,
Great story. I sure needed a good laugh today and that story sure gave it to me. Yessir Youarefat Thanks, Sid. |
I just got back from the shooting range after taking out my newest .30 DWM Commercial Luger. I picked this one up at the Reno Show this past weekend. I'm sure it was the least expensive Luger at the show. The Luger is in good shape, with all matching numbers. The only bad thing is that it is very bright as someone nickel plated it. :( At least the nickel plating is in good shape. Pete Ebbink pointed this one out to me. At first I was not interested in it, but later in the day it called out to me as I passed the table again. The dealer just wanted to sell it and he even lowered the price without my asking. The guys at the range were more excited about this Luger than the nice original .30 DWM Commercial that I also took along. And now for the important part, it shot great! :D This bright nickel Luger fired magazine after magazine with no malfunctions. All in all I must say that I am happy with my newest Luger!

How much extra did you have to pay for the plating?
|
The plating was thrown in for free as was the shoulder holster. :D

Bob, I flew through there yesterday, but was only "in town" for a couple of hours :D

I hope to see you at the N.A.P.C.A. Convention In Kansas City Jan 8th & 9th. Bob

Scott,
Thet there nikel plated Looger will never look rite 'til U put som pearly handls on hit! |
Hugh,
Right you are! This Luger almost looks rite as it is VERY bright and also came with an original magazine where someone replaced the original wood base with an ivory colored plastic one! What can I say. At least it was inexpensive, the bore is almost excellent, and it shoots flawlessly mag after mag. Maybe some day I'll put those "pearly handls" on it! :D Scott |
Scott,
You can get a pair of imitation ivory grips to match that mag bottom at www.boonetrading.com |
Hugh,
Interesting site and it's just up the road from me in Washington state. Their prices also appear to be reasonable. In all honesty the fake ivory magazine base looks cheap, fits poorly, and is discolored from age. Someday I will pick up a nice wood base and discard the plastic ivory base. I wish I could discard the nickel plating as easy! Scott |
