Jerry,

Regarding Reno in November, I have sent you a Private Message.

Also; weather and certainly driving to the November Reno show can be "iffy"...flying into the show might be a safer bet...

All,

Thanks again for such great info. on my 1918 holster. I have printed out portions of these discussions and have placed them, in plastic, inside the holster for future owners's use and education...

Regards,

Pete... <img border="0" alt="[typing]" title="" src="graemlins/yltype.gif" />

George,

When Alsace-Lorraine was part of the Reichsland from 1871 to 1918, Mulhouse was in the Bezirk (district) of Ober-Elsass and was known, as you correctly stated, M¼hlhausen (literally â??mill houses"). It was the seat of government for the Landkreis (county) of M¼hlhausen.

I still believe that the most likely origin of Pete's holster is M¼lheim an der Ruhr.

Pete,
Take a look at this link. It might clear up some of the confusion.

Hello Joe,

Thanks so much for the reprint of the Imperial holster makers list...I have saved it to my library...appreciate the web link !

I was/am also familiar with the IMA folks, as they advertise regularly in SGN...but there is really no way of passing off a recent piece of leather as WWII, no matter how "correct" the stampings might be...50-60 years from now, such 2003's era holsters might be fooling some folks...

Regards,

Pete... <img border="0" alt="[typing]" title="" src="graemlins/yltype.gif" />

I have the same markings in a 1916 holster, that was my own for years and I didn´t realize it!
it is: Rudolf Wiemer&Co. M¼lheim-Ruhr, which is near to D¼sseldorf.
