Hi John.....I for one agree with you whole heartedly.DO NOT "RESTORE" it......the gun is a fine example of a rare grip straped marked 06 Navy. It is what it is.

John, I have been keeping a database on altered 1906 style navy lugers. I would like to include your pistol in the data.
If you agree I will send you a copy of the data in a spreadsheet format. Does the new Gesichert marking appear to have been stamped or cut on a pantograph? Thanks in advance, HEINZ |
It appears stamped. It has raised edges.. Also, I would be happy to fill out a data sheet for you..

John, Actually your posts and pictures have all the info I need. And just when I thought all of the Gesicherts with lower case letters were pantographed :-)
If you send me your email I will send you a copy of the table in a couple of days. My grandsons will be in town for the weekend so it won't be till monday. Thanks, Heinz mailto:hahlers@adelphia.nethahlers@adelphia.net</a> |
Sold at Reno
Some of us were lucky enough to see this one in Reno before John H. sold it. Looked like it had most of the cold blue removed.
Let's keep an eye out for this gun to resurface for sale in the NC area...:( The little "Germany" in the left ear recess of the frame is the gun's most unique trait...and the unit marking... Regards, Pete...:typing: |
