Buy the Mini-Maglite. It is painless and non-destructive. If someone doesn't want you shining your little flashlight on their Luger, your question has already been answered.

Tom,
You have never met my brother-in-law! His motto has always been, "If a little is good, then a whole lot has to be fantastic!" For the good of the world, we must keep this knuckle-dragger ignorant!
AND....there are the fools out here (noted above) that believe than ANY rust is bad, and will take Simi-Chrome to the wonderful old relic to shine her up.

Johnny,
I am awash in Mini-Maglites. If I get another one for Christmas, I will go postal.

Wes, if you should get that much anticipated mini-maglite for Christmas, and decide to go postal, please do us all a favor and do it with an axe-handle... We don't need any more anti-firearm news events this year. I don't care if it means I have to register every axe-handle I ever own, and submit them to ballistic fingerprinting...

I am very curious how they will examine the forehead of the ballistic fingerprint subject to determine those characteristics they will file for future reference... any volunteers? Perhaps a local liberal news anchor?

Wes,
The Mini-Maglites work equally well as a regular flashlight, so don't despair.
