Thanks for the update Sid. Clive was 88 and had a very full and exciting life. I will miss him.

I have read many of his books, and I will miss him! I hope his son will continue writing his books in the future! I also read that WEB Griffin passed a few months ago, also a great fan of his. RIP to both.

Clive was a very interesting guy who lived a lot of his fictional adventures.
Sad to see him pass.

I first read his books when I was in Junior high.
Iceberg was the first book then Raise The Titanic.

I continued reading his books up into the 90's but I think he began to lose steam.
I didn't really care for the addition of Dirk Pitt's kids, for example.

I'm still waiting for Vixen 03 or Night Probe to made in to a movie, although considering how terribly he was treated by Hollywood I'm sure it will be a long time, if ever.

That is sad news to hear. First Clive Cussler book I ever read was Sahara, and it was an excellent book. I have always had a fondness for the books he wrote, as did my grandfather. The Dirk Pitt books had a style reminiscent of Indiana Jones in some ways.

Mr. Cussler was instramental in raising the Hunley submarine. He provided needed money to persue the raising of the Hunley.
