I have just purchased two sets of the CDNN Luger grips, I have original 1917 and 1920 grips to compare them to when I receive them. I will let you know my thoughts when I can compare them, although I'm no expert either.

Actually, comparing them by themselves in photos is not the most informative. You need to picture them on the gun so that we can see the fit: particularly the area at the front left where it curves under the trigger plate; the fit at the seft back around the safety lever and frame cuts; the thickness and fit along the front and back grip straps; and the fit at the cuts at the bottom of the grips.

Fritz et al, Your CDNN repro PO8 grips appear to be the Italian made ones that they have been selling for years now. Unfortunately, they are cut too low below the safety lever (so that they won't chip out like the originals do) and also at the top of the left side. As with all new repro wood grips, they are made a bit oversized, so that they can be fitted to any luger frame. I've never been crazy about the dark verticle grain running thru these, but the Watco's stain does even it out a bit. TH

Yes, but the dark vertical stripes seem to be evident on many untouched original grips. I think they're about the best you can find for under $60.
