Doc, thanks for that bit of info. Does it appear to be one strike, or two? Actually the photos will probably answer that quesrtion just fine.
And you guys are way too kind, I'm just a beginner with time and some dedication. --Dwight |
Dwight, appears to be one strike. I tried to take a bunch of pics. About half were out of focus. Will keep doing it until I get enough of the right ones. Be patient. In good light it is hard to see the image on the camera back and if I use only the view finder, too much parallax. And Dwight, you are just too modest!

Hello All,
Photos of Doc's 1940-dated HK luger are now in a Member's Gallery. Regards, Pete... <img border="0" alt="[typing]" title="" src="graemlins/yltype.gif" /> |
Pete and Doc,
Fantastic job!!!! Great pics - a better album. Doc - you have a very, very nice HK 3rd variation which Mr. Gibson would refer to as the smaller run of 1940s (100 produced). Very nice HK itself (see below on the Mag...).....!!!!!! Pete - thanks for posting these - really terrific! (And Doc - can you take a closer pic of just the proof on the mag??? - thanks!) |

(I'll post back in a bit - when I have the chance to compare it to something) |
And.....
You have a really interesting Krieg..... It was built, then set aside, then accepted, then the mag was accepted after being originally denoted as commercial - then that mag, as well, was accepted and serialized to this HK. The Digits are correct, the LWaA2 is correct - as well as the second proof, which is what I was interested in (see my post before this). Very nice..... Oh - my opinion still holds - you have a variation #3 as I defined them above...... Nice HK..!!! |
Good work guys, thanks.

Thanks to John D. and Dwight Gruber for your valuable and appreciated input. I will keep this HK well-oiled, well-protected and well coveted. Let me know if any other pics are needed.

You are most welcomed....
Can you tell I get excited about HKs? :) Yours is a good one - an excellent example. My thanks to both you and Pete for getting the pics posted - they were a huge help in identifying what you have - which is terrific.... - John |
