I do not think that is a NFA weapon. It looks like a AR15 pistol with a brace. Hard to believe but that gun is legal in CA. Sounds like the only problem was he did not have current written permission to own the cache.

Don, I agree, flaunting NFA laws will result in "Big Boy Time Out". What I have seen is the rarity in enforcement of violations on the 4473 form. Working in LE and at several gun stores during my advanced age ATF has seldom investigated crimes that could put bad guys away.

I do not agree on #1. If you have done your time and have been released from prison, and all your other rights restored, so should your 2nd amendment rights be. If you are too dangerous to own a gun, you should not have been put back on the streets.
