As the old saying goes, "Be careful what you wish for." :D

I am short of beauty shots for my '89 FXSTS, so I'll throw in a shot of the Harley Hut I put together for it (at the risk of going off-topic).

Sonic-Weld (pre-Trackmaster) 750 Triumph TT bike, built for the Pike's Peak Race to the Clouds. I've still got it but have the sense to stay off it these days...

1983 BMW r100 with Velorex Sidecar
Runs great!
Currently 52K miles (my daily commuter in good weather)
Original Earl-type forks (made specifically for sidecar)
Corbin custom seat
Krauser Saddlebags
Original Toolkit & tire pump
Extra new front tire
Almost new tires on rear and sidecar.

Everything works!

I am looking at a BMW sport touring bike, so this one has to go to make room in the garage. I am asking $5400.00 if you are interested PM me. The price will go up in the spring!

I've spent the most time on the red XR650L, had some interesting road trips with that one.

In town I like to ride the 919, unfortunately its a bit too uncomfortable to take on extended road trips.

Due to my experienced with the XR650L offroading(its heavy for a dirtbike), I fairly recently picked up the white XR250L, much easier to handle in the mud.

The XR650L was stolen and wrecked just last month, and is at a shop waiting on parts right now.

Both of my kids used my white 650L as transportation during high school. A very resilient machine that could be counted on to get them there and back.

I restored this 1979 XL250s a few years ago.
It ended up needing a lot more engine work than I anticipated. (Among other things.)
It was expensive and time consuming finding parts.
(Honda only made this model for three years.)
I put XR gaiters on it because I like gaiters. :)
I don't think I'll ever restore another dirt bike.
The saddest part is because I'm so tall I find it uncomfortable to ride.
I had an '81 XL185s that I really liked and regret selling years ago.

David,

great looking 850.

Maybe you are not into other Nortons but when I was a kid I owned a couple of Garden Gate Manx motorcycles. Rumor was these two bikes were Bobby Hills bikes he rode for Indian against Harleys back in the late 40s early 50s.

I came across a site on the internet about Manxs. The Book About My Bike , garden Gate manxs. Niels Schoen sells a book and has a face book site. I sent him the only pic I had left of my Manx after I made it into a chopper back in 64. The picture is on his site . maybe someone can recover it an post here. Serious motorcycle for the time, double overhead cam bevel gear single.

I will try to find some pictures of my curerent rides .

I'm familiar with the Manx line (Isle of Mann, etc.), but what is a Garden Gate Manx?
Speaking of Manx, there was a team campaigning several Manx' in this year's Cannonball Run. Along with lots of other cool bikes, too.

Me on the BSA at Barber Motorsports Park this past October.

DavidJayUden 11-22-2018 11:26 AM

I've always wanted to visit Barber, especially in October. Way more interesting than Sturgis! Ever do the old AHRMA Steamboat Springs rally?

I held off posting my favorite, owned it for 12 years from new, but thought I'd outgrown cycles...I was wrong...

Anyway, my 1983 XR-1000. Only 112 mph indicated, but tons of torque... :D

Looked for another one to acquire, but they're hen's teeth now...But I found a '83 XL-1000 and hope to haul that home in a couple weeks...

Until then... ;)

Rammercmc, I live in Lakeland, Fl. Sure wish I had some nice, low traffic, country roads around here!! But I'll be back in NH soon. There I'll find lots of country winding, hilly roads.
