I am 26, lucky to have a good job to help me pay for this expensive hobby.

None of my friends seem to have the desire to get into this hobby.

I don't understand all they money they waste on the plastic guns they want to pawn off in a year or two.

I will turn 44 next August.
And thinking I started here 15 years ago!
Good to see some younger members. The future of the historical gun collectiing worries me a bit.
And thank you to all of you old timers for all the patience and knowledge shared in this (and other) forums.:cheers:

I will be 78 this November. Started collecting stuff as a teenager and bought my first Luger in 1960.
God has been good to me and associating with ya'll on the Forum has been great.

It Proves one thing, The time of luger collecting has little is not restricted to age or race~ Luger Beauty is timeless! When Herman visited we were so excited. Lugers are meant to be shared! Dick and his lovely wife earned a place in our hearts. Thank you who created a place for us to learn and brag a little! Its one thing to see a luger in a picture and to actually hold one. It fits like a glove and perfectaly balanced! The man was a gunius~Timeless never redundant!

At the age of eight I was given an Arisaka Jap rifle and a Type 14 Nambu. I traded them for a Luger when I was ten. I have never owned another Jap gun.

GOOD TRADE~ Do you still have the gun?

Will be 33 in December. My first Luger is a parts gun that I got in 2009. Didn't get to shoot one till a year or so when my brother, father, and I owned a Luger finally.

We were shooting some WWI German surplus back then!

I turned 83 in Jan. First gun was single shot 22 when I was 12. An uncle gave my dad a Luger and a 98K Mauser after WWll. Luger was stolen in 1979. Still have the 98K. Collected Lugers since I was 16.

Douglas, I have always heard folks worry about younger collectors. Perhaps less, but like I said, since i was young, I have heard it. I think that there will always be folks interested in history and the iconic luger is shown in movies on so many TV and movies it is surprising. It has its place in the mindset of the world :)

It is a on-and-off discussion that always pops up in the forums.
My major concern here is that I need companions to talk about this passion. Most of the youngsters prefers plastic guns or no gun at all. It is good to see there is still hope.

In my part, I am doing my best to develop in my 8 years old son interest in History and old firearms. It is working so far: he just asked me to get him a US Infantry M36 pistol belt and related accountrements. :thumbup: And he just gave his first .22 LR shots at the family ranch. Slowly but surely.

39. Still own the 10/22 my father gave me when I was 14. First Luger a year ago.

66+. Inherited my father's shooter when he died back in '79 and kept it and a couple other pistols stashed in the garage for years. A few years back I became interested in them again and found this forum where folks were very helpful. I finally had Mike Krause look at it and declare it safe to shoot so I took it to the range where it worked just fine. My father always told me it had a weak spring and for that reason he'd never fired it. 'Too bad he never had it checked out.

I am a very young 76. Got my first Luger in 1960 at my hometown hardware store that had a nice used gun department. I lived in a college town where a lot of folks were studying under the new GI Bill and were selling off their surplus, bring-home guns and relics. My Luger was a really nice 41/42 Mauser. Wish I still had it.....

I am 72. 73 in July. Funny thing about age; my dad passed from the scene when he was my age, 72. I was 46 or so when he died. He appeared to me to be a very old man then. Now I am that age and I truly feel like I did when I was 46ish. I have three sons and eight grandchildren. My oldest son is 51. People look at me and think I am my dad. Whats this world all about? When I meet my dad, I will post here and let everyone know what its all about. Oh and by the way, I got my first Luger in 1959; I was 14. Bought it from the gentleman who "found" it in an occupied building during the war. It is a mint 1910 unit marked and has a small "w" near the trigger guard.
