Does that make us 'shill bidders'??? :(

I don't know about you, but I would have bought it at my bid!

High bidder is not one I recognize, but he is going to get a nice .45 luger!

Getting boxed up

cirelaw 01-16-2018 09:09 PM

Eugene, how many of a particular model do you make? What sells the best? What model takes you the most time and effort! Do you still have your first? Is there an exception for the stamp! Thank You My Hero!

LugerMan.com 01-17-2018 09:35 AM

Standard model gets ordered the most,

Some Baby lugers were ordered and they are a bit of a pain.

Target models get there fair share as well.

Our first is a #4 that was featured in Guns and Ammo Feb 2018

and it has not come home, but it will soon.

We really do not want to make exceptions for markings, so that the guns can be recognizable.

2018 Lot of 50

the lot of 2018 for 50 units,
and it's starting to go after article.
Place your orders while there is some available.

Last year 40 units lasted about 3 month and it was all gone.

when will all the first 40 go out? Just asking because a close friend or 2 or 3 are expecting one...

Eugene wrote me this week after I asked about the progress; he said 8 had shipped, and another 8 were going out this week.

The ship in order of order placement, not serial number. My #20 is supposed to be in the 3rd or 4th batch, maybe middle of Feb. shipment. ?;)? I hope :)

LugerMan.com 01-24-2018 08:57 PM

shipping

Total of 9 guns were shipped,

with my son out with bad back ,

rust blue is delayed.
It takes about a week to rust blue 8 guns.

getting next 8 ready.
guns have been assembled and tested in the white.

hoping next week all will fall in to place and they will be ready to go out.

Mean while we are getting next 8 ready for rust blue.

sounds excellent Eugene - but you taught him the bluing!

I did, but if I spend my life bluing, you will never see any other projects comeout. Besides he is better at it. He got the patience I do not.

OK, I bought No. 16 off Gun Broker and received it yesterday. Beautiful gun, excellent machining, blue job, magazine is piece of art.
Couple of issues:
1. Magazine is very difficult to install and remove. Installation requires you to push Mag release or slam it home; slamming is not a good idea as may damage Mag catch. Removal requires you to push button and pull the Mag out. Eugene said to load Mag w/7, open toggle and push button to install Magazine to prevent damage to Mag.
2. Disassembled the gun and removed barrel/toggle Ass’y and locking bolt fell out; it won’t stay in place in dissembled mode. Spring doesn’t hold in place.
Other buyers let me know if you find same conditions or others.
Waiting for warm up to take to range to fire.

LugerMan.com 02-03-2018 09:41 PM

If you feel strongly about take down lever folling out on dissasembly, I can send a stronger spring out to you to cure the problem. Gun was test fire with 100 round and takedown never opens on it's own. Let me know on the spring.

Eugene, where did you learn your expertise and how long have you creating your beauties!! Eric

LugerMan.com 02-04-2018 12:39 AM

On the magazine button, luger mags are never drop free.
Our magazine catch springs are stronger then original.
We were focusing on reliable function of the gun. Soft magazine catch springs were contributing to magazine jumping out of lockup during fire. So we decided that trade off was worth it.
Push the button on inserting magazine, or loose it during firing

This is a 3 years on going effort for the 45 lugers.

I have been working on and restoring lugers for 23 years.

I watched in awe what Eugene has accomplished in his quest to bring this Luger to market. No small feat what he has accomplished. I’m a careful buyer that followed his step by step progress. I didn’t plop down close to 6 grand because I didn’t have some expectation that he would succeed. Even though he put in many hours to debug this design he can always use positive feedback to improve the process. I hope he takes it in the spirit of how it’s meant. I intend that my feedback is a positive to help improve an already great product. I’m not casting stones. If other 45 Luger owners post their observations in a positive manner we can provide a valuable service to improve the process.
The issues I mentioned are not earth shattering and in the case of the magazine is not a big problem in operating the luger. Perhaps a small contour change can improve magazine insertion.
The locking bolt issue is either bolt tolerance, hole tolerance or spring design. I expect Eugene will work on improving this issue if it shows up on other guns. As for mine, I’ll try the new spring offered to see if that fixes my Locking Bolt issue.
I hope Eugene’s business grows to be of a size that he can afford a Business Manager, IMHO, he surely needs one. My observation is Eugene is a machinist, engineer, and entrepreneur and needs guidance in business matters.
Not wanting to cast aspersions on anybody’s product but I believe the makers of the other 45 Lugers mentioned in a previous post had problems with their products, some never corrected.

Edward Tinker 02-04-2018 03:04 PM

Tom, well said - I am envious of your new purchase, but glad for you!
