Because he can. ;)

Hello,

I now also got feedback from Werle.

He regrets to inform me, that he will not be able to manufacture the sportspistol version of the 08 in the foreseeable future. For more details about the pistol he recommends to have a look at his homepage.

Well that is really too bad.
It seems I will have to go with a "VoPo" 08 and see if/what I can get "pimped" to get my sportspistol.

Best regards,
Martin

Hello,

Just wanted to give you an update on the topic.
I decided against a modified 08.
Instead I bought a nice 08 from 1940.
Due to the paperwork needed here in Germany I do not know when I will really get it.
But I will share a few pictures (in the correct folder) once I get it.
So you have a chance to comment if I was lucky finding a nice one or if my inexperience resulted in a hasty deal I might regret.

Best regards,
Martin

If it is an 'original' Luger, then I do not see how you could regret it. You may pay more than some of us might, but if it was something you really wanted and you thought you might not get this chance for a long time, then it is worth whatever you pay for it.
