Here goes my WAG.

Belt's worth $400
Holster $4000
Pistol $3500-$4000
Pouch $500

Total $8900

I think it will go at auction for $12000 to $14000

Like Ron, I don't think the pouch has anything to do with the AE rig. Isn't there some documentation of how many magazines were issued with each pistol?

Ron Wood 08-09-2004 05:55 PM

Jeez George...that is almost exactly how I came up with my guess! Didn't think the belt and pouch were worth that much, that's mostly why my number is lower than yours.

I agree with Ron's statement 'It would seem odd for Rock Island to make tan holsters and then make a black magazine pouch' and, therefore, I feel that this magazine pouch is only a complimentary item for the set which was found separately. If we were to assume that such an item was offered with the tan holsters, the next questions are whether such a magazine pouch would have been marked or not, and how come additional ones have not yet been found/reported with standard features in the same manner as the US holsters?

In regards to George's estimates of the various items in the set, I would have thought that the pistol would be worth more considering that the consition is respectible and the price of the holster less, probably around $3k.

Pete, I would like to own such a magazine pouch with the three mint commercial magazines for my Luger Carbine set. In the early 1990's I was offered a leather A&F magazine pouch for about $350 which I passed on - I screwed up on that decision. I tried to track it down later, but it is probably buried in someone's collection.

For what my .02 is worth, I'll play the bid at $17,370.00. It's a really kool combination. Maybe if I were to hit the lottery, (boy would I become popular). Keep smling.....Bob

I went to their website to see if I could find out how much it went for. No luck. I did find the description for it though. Here is the link for it.

One Size Fits All is what it says on the hat I usually wear... :D

Ron Wood 09-08-2004 03:10 PM

I only missed it by $9726.72. Someone has deep pockets.

Edward Tinker 09-08-2004 07:04 PM

And I thought I was going "high" in my estimate...

Somebody give me an official read on the auction so I can reward the winner.

Edward Tinker 09-08-2004 10:43 PM

George, I did, I asked the auction for official results.

See above,

George, please come out to Colorado and cut my grass, my wife is getting tired of doing that while I sit in the shade and drink "lemonade". :D
