"Legally-defined" and "shipping policy" are two different things. I didn't speak to a "flunky" I spoke to a FEDEX supervisor who specialized in Dangerous Goods and Firearms. I am not making it complex.....it is what it is.....

If you received this and believe it was against the law I suggest you turn yourself over to the proper authorities immediately. Do not pass go, do not collect a hundred dollars but go directly to jail. Let's see how concerned you REALLY are...

That would be violating their policy. I know some take that chance but I am not willing to risk my firearm over it.

Never said I broke the law and I don't intend to.

Then what's your problem? Something isn't adding up.

Now my friend in Calif. went to his P.O. and they specifically asked if there was a firearm in his package (there was). Refused his shipment! Fed-Ex did same to him.
As for lugers, the upper cannon does have serial numbers and can be fired with no lower receiver. Put a round in the chamber and press the trigger bar....BANG! But, I would assume the local P.O. clerk would not know that.

Yes,
and you can put a shotgun shell in a pipe and hit it with a pointy hammer and it will go off too! that does not make the pipe a firearm!

And not all luger receivers have serial numbers.

Your choice and by all means do what you wish; but don't try to convince the rest of the group here you are correct.

Your single experience does not negate the thousands of experiences in shipping and receiving firearms and parts by the members here.

We appreciate your concern, but now you have tried your best to warn all who want to listen.

My condolences for your current residence situation, I know that must make it really tough for collecting arms.

I suggest that you crawl back into your shell(safe space) where you'll be secure.

I am closing this thread.

physoft (Ted) believes that something happened against the rules. A number of older, very lawful collectors have told him that the upper is NOT a firearm.

I think all has been said.
