Yes... the friendships are wonderful! Very true what you say.. I acquired my 1918 DWM reblued shooter from a forum member.. still have to wait for the paperwork before I can try her out. 7 months to go... meanwhile I'm really trying to find a way to obtain a Swiss 06/29 I just found for sale right here in Venlo! 7.65 mm... a beautiful gun....

I only buy from our Luger Family~ I'm sure you might try here, I recently bought a 1906 Swiss from my mentor and hero George Anderson and he may take payments, Enjoy!!!

Oh yes, I already have- Thank you- a 1918 DWM - described in thread: "Found a Nice Shooter" in "New Collectors Forum"

I don't have words for this one.... where did you FIND this? What's the story?
One thing I miss from the US is the freedom to own and use firearms... and the sentiment behind the 2nd Amendment. I grew up in the US (New York) and we learned to shoot when we were very young. We had rifles, pistols, shotguns... the lot! But we learned to use them properly. We NEVER had "toy guns" in the house- strictly forbidden. (wouldn't have been much fun anyway, learning to shoot in a proper way was FAR more interesting.) I have only just become introduced to the idea of collecting GUNS in their own right, and I have to say it's very interesting. However, I am still very much a "shooter," and I look forward to my range visits during the weekend, where we have friendly competitions, we talk shop, and sometimes advise each other on new acquisitions, or trades, etc. The only real contact I have with true collectors is this forum (and a few others, but the Lugerforum primarily) and 2 people here in the Netherlands whom I have just recently come to know through this new interest in collecting. So s new world is opening up... |
