Lugers were made in groupings of 10,000 (except for commercial, which at first had a continuous sn range), so in WW1 in 1917, you'd see 1 (no suffix), 2 ns , 3 ns to 9999 then 1a, 2a, 3a, etc
even in 1921, you could have a 4 digit with out without a suffix and/or a commercial number ed |
Just corrected my 1922 typo... Of course it is "1921"...

Thanks to everyone for your help...I appreciate it...
To summarize I have 1921 DWM early Weimar Police Pistol with Schiwy sear saftey and what remains of the magazine saftey The Magazine dosen't match the pistol.... Someone mentioned it has Dove acceptance mark and that was only for a short period of time...What period was that and is it the mark on the side of the reciever that's between the 2 eagles? |
You have a number mag with a Nazi mark, but 'patent' in English? Odd?
Aldo35 B below is right, same spelling. |
You're right...It didn't dawn on me that "patent" is in english...I saw online that the proof mark is for contract proof for police or postal...
I'm wondering what time period |
I am pretty sure the German spelling for patent is same as English.
