Need an inside belt loop picture. It does resemble the Otto Sindel police holsters that have been discussed before. Those were determined to be fake. Doesn't really matter beautiful luger!!. Bill

Doesn't really matter? Bill! Et tu Brute?

Jerry
What I meant was whether or not the holster is real the luger is very very nice. My best guess is the holster is fake. What say you Jerry?? Bill |
Bill, I KNEW that! Just seein if yer awake! I would like to see more to determine it really..Like we all know there are some pretty good fakes floating around.

Yes.
Bad and incomplete info abounds. Some lugers first found their way to the military then to the police. According to The Mauser Parabellum, p 350: 1930-34 - 90 pistols with DWM toggles assembeled by Mauser went to the police 1935-42 - from the Army to Police - 2,301 to 4,312 Mauser banners 1938-1942 - 22,785 approx. For a total of some 26,000 pistols, with roughly 10% via the Army. So one might expect to see 1 of 10 Police Mauser pistols with army acceptance, of course all of these are not "byf" codes. There is a lot more info in the book, with listings by serial number if you are interested in more info. |
Stunning example!!!
