I tried it as well - it definitely wants landscape mode.

Yes - the use of multiple horizontal columns forced usage of the horizontal (landscape) orientation for pages. They are designed to print one or two sided, with the binding along the long top edge.

The document is actually a set of long multi-cell tables with the data inside table cells. Flow control is automatic when building content and exporting the document to PDF format.

I don't know how different printer drivers would deal with this if you attempt to override it. Each one may deal with it differently, depending of whether you have a "fill the page" option.

Marc, I have a question about the 6 May 2016 version of the PDF FAQ -

I needed to print out a page on the Revisions Commission stamp, and my HP Officejet 7210 could not print any of the PDF pages in Portrait form, only Landscape, despite my trying different options.

Is this how you intended the FAQ to be read/printed???

That's cool. I just wanted to be sure. Lately I've seen some pics posted that when clicked/expanded, turn sideways. I think I've read that is a peculiarity of some cell phone camera or another.

My printer does have a 'shrink to fit' option for web pages (and various %'s) but not for PDF's. I couldn't get it to turn for portrait.

No biggie. Good to know though. :)

I actually could print it on portrait on my printer, but it would have been tiny and the top and bottom of the pages would be blank!
