I think that's a Chaing Jaing (CJ) the Chinese copy of that BMW. They are still made.

You mean I could buy a brand-new Chinese copy of an 80-year old German designed flathead opposed-twin with a leaf-spring suspended sidecar??? Day-em!!! I want one!!! |
Yup! Most of the Motorcycle-sidecar combinations you see at reenactments are CJs made up to look like wartime Beemers. You have to find an older, (1980s-90s) one, as the newer ones are getting more and more "improvements" and are getting further away from the wartime product.

You might want to also check into URAL motorcycles... they make the same model, and probably a little better quality...
Here is a photo of their "retro" model: http://www.imz-ural.com/img/motorcyc...70-retro-1.jpg Only $13,894.00 ! ( You would have to sell the Luger Carbine that you don't even own yet, eh? ) Check out the whole website here: http://www.imz-ural.com |

Edit: There is a dealer in Buffalo, about an hour's drive away...I sent them an email... Yeah, that Luger carbine looks about as attainable as my 'dating' [coff, coff] Eva Langoria... |
