Now officially listed For Sale

PIA now has this gun listed "officially" for sale - no word about the history of this gun and they do know:

(New Addition - first advertisement)

When confronted with the facts gathered from this thread here is their reply:

(quote): Dear Andre,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We received the gun by mail on consignment with a “widow” story that the gun was found in a deceased collection. Undoubtedly to make this story work someone had to have died since the gun was puchased in april. Giving the “widow” all the benefit of the doubt we could not sustain her asking price with this gun recently being sold.

Since you haven’t sent any money we will return the gun to California and suggest a dealer out there work for her.

We apologize for any inconvenience; we can only work with what we are told and don’t expect people are trying to deceive us.

J....

My lesson learned from this - be careful where and from whom to buy. And there is not much of anything else to add to this story...

I sold one last year that was original, matching, and a ton of wear, restrawed and replaced grips with so-so bore. It went for $4800 on GB. Just for price comparison. At $4000 the restored gun is priced right.

OK. Popular "widow" story. We all know widows do not like guns. My spouse told me the 1st thing she would do if I passed away -- "moving those guns out". No way to make her like any gun, hopelessly. Just a typical example.

If the story was true, the RIAC buyer just passed away??

Guess then its normal spouse behavior... I thought it was just my wife :roflmao:

We should all swap numbers in case of such an event; at least we'll know it wasn't thrown in the garbage or cleaned out by a dealer for pennies
